Job Description
TERRADON Corporation is seeking a full-time Geotechnical Engineer. The position will primarily work from the corporate headquarters office in Poca, WV reporting to the Engineering Department Head.
Job Duties:
- Executing geotechnical engineering projects from start to finish
- Developing field exploration and laboratory testing plans for geotechnical engineering investigations
- Preparing proposals for geotechnical engineering services
- Coordinating/managing field investigations
- Sampling and logging soils and rock during field investigations
- Research, engineering analysis and preparation of geotechnical engineering reports
- Tracking budgets and schedule to ensure project requirements are met
- Review of foundation plans and grading plans for conformance with geotechnical engineering investigation reports
- Collaborating with various other consultants including civil engineers, structural engineers, architects and construction managers
- Core work hours will be Monday-Friday 8am to 5pm with overtime as needed
- All other duties as assigned
Qualifications:
- Bachelor of Science in Geotechnical or Civil Engineering (MS preferred)
- WV Professional Engineering License
- 5 to 15 years of experience
- Working knowledge of soil mechanics theory and laboratory testing techniques
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Computer skills including CADD, Microsoft Office
- Possess an outgoing and positive attitude, are dependable and meet all assigned project deadlines
- Display strong communication and interpersonal skills and have the ability to work in a fast-paced team environment with multiple deadlines
