- Assist with the flow of patients from the waiting area to exam rooms across various departments.
- Transport patients using wheelchairs or walkers as needed and assist with personal medical needs.
- Recognize, report, and respond appropriately to actual or potential emergency situations.
- Assist patients with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs), including bathing, dressing, eating, toileting, transferring, repositioning, and mobility.
- Collect and label specimen, such as blood and urine, for laboratory testing under proper supervision.
- Assist with electrocardiograms (EKGs) as directed by clinical staff.
- Obtain and accurately document vital signs.
- Restock exam rooms, fold laundry, perform basic housekeeping tasks, and complete daily checks of sharps containers, gloves, tissues, and linen disposal.
- Communicate professionally and effectively with patients, families, and team members.
- Offer emotional support and clear communication to patients and families to promote comfort and trust.
- Chart in CPSI and record patient supply usage on billing sheets.
- Provide support across different departments as needed.
- Perform other duties or projects as assigned.
- Education & Training:
- High School diploma or equivalent required
- Post-secondary training in healthcare preferred
- Experience:
- Minimum of 1-3 years of experience in a hospital or clinical support role.
- Licensure/Certification/Registration:
- Certification as a Nurse Aide (CNA) with an active listing on the Texas Nurse Aide Registry - or - certification as a Medical Assistant (CMA or RMA), is required.
- BLS required
- Must possess and maintain a valid driver’s license as employees may occasionally be required to operate a company vehicle. Reasonable accommodations may be provided as required by law.
