Overview
A leading acute care hospital in the Pensacola area is seeking a compassionate and skilled Occupational Therapist to join its rehabilitation team.
This role provides an opportunity to work with a diverse patient population across multiple service lines, helping individuals regain independence, improve functional abilities, and enhance quality of life following illness, injury, or surgery. New graduates are encouraged to apply and will receive support from an experienced interdisciplinary team.
Responsibilities
- Evaluate patients' functional abilities, physical limitations, and rehabilitation needs
- Develop individualized treatment plans in collaboration with physicians and interdisciplinary care teams
- Deliver evidence-based occupational therapy interventions to improve daily living skills and functional independence
- Monitor patient progress and modify treatment plans as appropriate
- Educate patients and family members on treatment goals, adaptive techniques, and recovery strategies
- Maintain accurate and timely clinical documentation
- Collaborate with physicians, nurses, case managers, and rehabilitation professionals to coordinate patient care
- Support safe patient transitions and discharge planning
- Provide mentorship and guidance to occupational therapy assistants and students as appropriate
- Promote a patient-centered approach focused on achieving optimal outcomes
Qualifications
Required
- Bachelor's Degree in Occupational Therapy
- Current Occupational Therapist license in the State of Florida
- Occupational Therapist Registered (OTR/L) credential
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification within 30 days of hire
Preferred
- One or more years of Occupational Therapy experience
- Acute care, inpatient rehabilitation, or hospital-based therapy experience
- Strong communication and interdisciplinary collaboration skills
- New graduates are encouraged to apply
