Posting Information
Temporary/nontenured faculty are appointed to teach one to two courses per semester. Teaching appointments are based on student demand on a semester-by-semester basis. Eligibility for annual reappointment is contingent upon satisfactory annual performance evaluations during the term period, in addition to continuity of funding and departmental needs. Successful candidates may teach at the San Marcos, Round Rock, or Collin County campuses and/or online, depending on the needs of the academic department.
This posting is for the fall 2026, spring 2027, and summer 2027 semesters. Please note that this posting is not intended to convey that such a need currently exists. Applicants applying for a pool faculty position will be available to the departmental search committee for consideration in case the need arises.
- Specific educational requirements vary by position, but a minimum of a master’s degree with 18 graduate hours in the teaching field is generally required.
- Previous teaching experience is preferred.

Certain positions, including those with clinical responsibilities, require compliance with health, immunization, and other requirements mandated by affiliated clinical agencies. Employment and continued assignment in such roles are contingent upon meeting and maintaining these requirements.
This position may conduct research on critical infrastructure depending on the research focus of a hire. Consistent with the requirements of the State of Texas, individuals conducting research on critical infrastructure will be subject to pre-employment, and then subsequent routine background checks/cybersecurity screenings. Employment will at all times be contingent upon the successful completion of these screenings in accordance with State and University requirements.
