JOB PURPOSE
This position requires a flexible schedule, with weekly changes in day/evening hours.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Facility cleanliness and maintenance
- Perform any floor services and custodial duties that are asked by the Vocational Support Professional, Team Leader and Contract Manager such as stripping and waxing, carpet cleaning, cleaning bathrooms, vacuuming, sweeping and mopping floors, dusting, etc. Cleans and restocks offices, bathrooms, kitchen area(s), conference and meeting rooms, and office areas daily or per checklist, if less than daily.
- Work on flexible schedule with hours based on the needs of the position.
- Work in various locations based on needs in the tri county assignments.
- Provide positive role model for supported employee.
- Maintain any work records as required by contract site.
- Maintain compliance with required hard floor surfaces and carpet care training, including top scrubbing, stripping and waxing of various floor surface.
- Operates and maintains cleaning equipment in accordance with manufacturer’s specifications. This includes high and low speed floor machine and carpet machines.
- Follow procedures for the use of chemical cleaners and power equipment, in order to prevent damage to floors and fixtures.
- Follow the contracting agencies policy and procedure when performing work at the contracting site.
- Keeps supervisor abreast of needed equipment repair, supplies, concerns, and/or any unusual occurrence(s)
- Follows OSHA standards when disposing of any materials that fall under the OSHA guidelines
ADDITIONAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Attends and passes all required training.
- Attends and participates in staff meetings, as required.
- Move furniture, equipment and supplies
- Accomplishes all tasks as appropriately assigned or requested.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Five (5) years’ work experience in commercial cleaning or related field.
- Six-month professional experience stripping and waxing floors
- Must be able to negotiate physical environment at CRC (Calvert Recreation Center).
- Demonstrated ability to follow instructions and act accordingly.
- Demonstrated ability to complete assigned tasks and duties with minimal supervision
- Ability to plan work, organize, and maintain workflow while maintaining flexibility to deal with varied tasks and priorities
- Ability to work in a professional manner.
- Demonstrated ability to communicate clearly and concisely, both orally and in writing
- Must pass the criminal background check mandated by the State of Maryland.
- Valid driver’s license and access to reliable vehicle.

Specific vision abilities required by the job include close vision, distance vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
