Overview
Beach House Motel, a year-round motel located in Wildwood, New Jersey, is seeking an experienced General Manager to lead our operations. This unique opportunity oversees a property that operates with 24 units during the off-season and expands to 45 units during the summer months, providing year-round employment with increased operational activity during peak season.
Position Summary
The ideal candidate will have experience managing all aspects of a resort, seasonal property, or select-service hotel. Strong computer skills are required, including proficiency with Property Management Systems (PMS), online reservation platforms, social media, and third-party online travel agencies (OTAs).
The General Manager is responsible for the overall day-to-day operation of the hotel, including:
- Recruiting, hiring, training, and scheduling team members
- Supervising front desk, housekeeping, and maintenance operations
- Delivering exceptional guest service and resolving guest concerns
- Managing reservations, group bookings, and room blocks
- Implementing sales and marketing initiatives to drive occupancy and revenue
- Maintaining property standards and ensuring smooth daily operations
In addition, the General Manager will assist with light administrative responsibilities, including supporting corporate accounting and payroll processes.
This position requires an individual who is self-motivated, dependable, and comfortable working independently during slower periods while also thriving in a fast-paced environment during the busy summer season. A hands-on management style is essential, along with a positive team-oriented attitude and a willingness to assist in all areas of the operation whenever needed.
This position is with a beach hotel that operates at or near full occupancy during the peak summer season. Due to the nature of the hospitality industry, regular availability on weekends, holidays, and other high-demand periods is required.
