Family Engagement Manager

The Jewish Federation of South Palm Beach County is seeking a passionate, relationship-driven Family Engagement Manager to create meaningful opportunities for families to connect with one another, celebrate Jewish life, and become active participants in our vibrant community.
This role is about more than coordinating programs, it is about building lasting relationships. Through innovative family experiences, personalized outreach, and strong community partnerships, you will help families feel welcomed, supported, and inspired at every stage of their Jewish journey.
Leading our PJ Library, PJ Our Way, and broader family engagement initiatives, you will develop engaging programs that bring families together, expand connections throughout South Palm Beach County, and create pathways for lifelong involvement with the Federation and the Jewish community.
Role and Impact
As our Family Engagement Manager, you will serve as a connector, relationship builder, and community ambassador for families with young children. You will develop welcoming experiences that foster belonging, cultivate partnerships with schools, synagogues, preschools, and community organizations, and help families discover meaningful ways to engage in Jewish life.
Working collaboratively with Federation staff, volunteers, and community partners, you will oversee family engagement initiatives while ensuring programs are thoughtfully planned, well-executed, and aligned with PJ Library grant requirements and the Federation's mission.
Key Responsibilities
Family Engagement & Relationship Building
- Build meaningful, lasting relationships with families through personalized outreach, ongoing communication, and exceptional customer service.
- Create welcoming experiences that help families connect with one another and the broader Jewish community.
- Develop innovative strategies to engage, retain, and support families throughout their Jewish journey.
- Meet families where they are by building relationships in neighborhoods, schools, community events, and residential communities.
- Create pathways that encourage continued participation in Federation programs and community life.
- Represent the Federation and PJ Library at community events and outreach opportunities.
Program Leadership & Community Experiences
- Plan, coordinate, and implement PJ Library, PJ Our Way, holiday celebrations, storytimes, family programs, and community engagement events.
- Develop annual programming calendars, timelines, and objectives to ensure successful program delivery.
- Evaluate participation, family feedback, and program outcomes to continuously improve the family experience.
- Ensure compliance with PJ Library standards, grant requirements, and best practices.
Community Partnerships & Collaboration
- Cultivate strong relationships with synagogues, schools, preschools, municipalities, agencies, and community organizations.
- Collaborate across Federation departments to develop integrated family programming and community-wide initiatives.
- Recruit, support, and coordinate volunteers and community partners.
- Serve as the primary liaison for PJ Library community partners and maintain strong collaborative relationships.
Marketing & Communications
- Partner with the Marketing Department to promote programs, increase awareness, and expand enrollment.
- Develop newsletters, social media content, promotional materials, and family communications.
- Support recruitment initiatives that engage diverse families throughout South Palm Beach County.
- Ensure messaging reflects the Federation's mission and commitment to welcoming families.
Operations & Administration
- Manage PJ Library and PJ Our Way enrollment, subscriptions, CRM data, and family engagement records.
- Coordinate event logistics including registrations, vendors, supplies, room reservations, and program materials.
- Assist with budgets, purchasing, invoices, grant reporting, and program documentation.
- Maintain accurate participation records, reports, and program statistics.
- Support special projects and additional responsibilities as assigned.
Thrive Here If You Have
- Bachelor's degree in Education, Social Work, Nonprofit Management, Jewish Studies, Communications, or a related field.
- Three to five years of experience in family engagement, community outreach, education, nonprofit programming, or relationship management.
- Experience working with children and families, preferably within a Jewish communal, educational, or nonprofit environment.
- A genuine passion for welcoming families and helping them build meaningful community connections.
- Knowledge of Jewish traditions, holidays, and community life, or enthusiasm for learning.
- Outstanding interpersonal, relationship-building, and customer service skills.
- Excellent written and verbal communication abilities.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
- Experience using Microsoft Office and CRM/database systems.
- Familiarity with email marketing platforms, social media, and event registration software is a plus.
