The National WWII Museum is currently seeking an Educational Travel Relationship (ETR) Manager. The ETR Manager will develop and manage an engagement program that will focus on growing Membership in the Patriots Circle, the Museum’s mid-level donor program for gifts ranging from $1,000-$25,000, by focusing on a robust prospect base comprised of travelers who participate in the Museum’s Educational Travel program.
This year, the Museum’s Educational Travel Department will operate approximately 50 trips, engage approximately 1700 travelers and generate close to $15 million in revenue. Over the past 20 years, the Museum has engaged more than 20,000 travelers many of whom are not current supporters of the Museum and whose primary connection to the Museum is through the educational travel programs. The ETR Manager will have primary responsibility for converting Educational Travelers to Patriots Circle members and will be responsible for developing a deliberate and detailed strategy to create a plan that engages travelers with the comprehensive offerings of the Museum.
Reporting to the Director of the Patriots Circle, the ETR Manager is responsible for working with multiple Museum Departments including Educational Travel, Education and Access, and the Executive Office to develop engagement opportunities for Educational Travelers before, during and after Museum trips.
The ETR Manager must be knowledgeable about the goals and priorities of both the Institutional Advancement Department and the Educational Travel Department and committed to departmental collaboration.
Requirements:- Develop detailed and consistent plans that provide Educational Travelers with information about engagement opportunities with the Museum over and above their travel experience. This includes developing pre-travel engagement, opportunities developing organic opportunities for travelers to learn about Museum goals and priorities while on trips, soliciting travelers to become members of the Patriots Circle, and developing after trip onsite curated experiences for travelers who are major donor prospects.
- Develop comprehensive communication strategies to provide Educational Travelers with a 360-degree understanding of the Museum’s mission, vision, and goals.
- Develop a solicitation track for Educational Travelers that includes Patriots Circle participation, as well as major gift and planned giving opportunities based on prospect capacity and interest. In conjunction with Advancement Leadership, collaborating with Marketing and Communications to ensure communication strategies are aligned with Museum branding and messaging.
- Interface with Educational Travel staff to assure premium level hospitality while guests are traveling with the Museum, including supporting Institutional Advancement team members and Museum executives who are staffing international trips
- Partner with the Patriots Circle team and Major Gift Officers to cultivate, solicit and steward Educational Travelers who are identified as donor prospects for the Museum.
- Manage staffing and engagement opportunities for on-campus Educational Travel programs, including The International Conference on World War II, semi-annual educational symposiums, and Experience the Victory program.
- Develop a stewardship cycle for previous Educational Travelers to include surveys, developing pre and post trip cultivation and stewardship opportunities for all Educational Travelers.
- Undertake other duties and special projects as assigned by the Patriots Circle Director and the Associate Vice President of Annual Giving and Membership.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent.
- Experience in customer relationship management or sales in a business environment; experience in fundraising or membership programs in a non-profit environment.
- Experience in database management, applications, and spreadsheets. Knowledge of fundraising software and Raiser’s Edge preferred.
- Keen attention to detail, exceptional organizational skills, initiative, and the ability to problem solve under pressure.
- Excellent interpersonal, presentation, oral and written communication skills. Ability to work as a member of a team.
- Willingness to work a flexible schedule that goes beyond the normal 40- hour work week; extended work may at times include minor holidays, weekends, and evenings.
