Team Description:
The Corporate Technology group is part of the Products organization, responsible for delivering and supporting the technology that powers TWDC’s corporate functions, enterprise workflows, and service management platforms. Our scope spans the entire product lifecycle — from setting strategy and roadmaps to overseeing project delivery, engineering, and ongoing support. Through these efforts, we drive digital transformation across our business, workforce, and technology communities.
This role is located within the Audience & Content Engagement area. From evergreen digital destinations to campaigns and events, this team provide solutions for the full flywheel of content publication, discovery, engagement, amplification, and insights. These enable measurable connections to business engagement and performance. We work directly with a variety of businesses and brands across The Walt Disney Company, including Disney Parks, ABC, ESPN, and more.
What You’ll Do:
The Software Engineer is responsible for developing high-quality software solutions that support business needs and align with enterprise technology standards. This role offers a balance of technical challenge, learning opportunity, and collaborative problem-solving, with support from more senior engineers and technical leads. Working as part of a cross-functional product team, the Software Engineer participates in the full software development lifecycle—helping to design, code, test, and deploy solutions that integrate with broader enterprise systems. They contribute to technical design discussions, write clear and maintainable code, and support the ongoing operation and performance of assigned systems.
Engineering & Solution Delivery
- Participate in the development and delivery of complex CMS websites, integration, and services for our internal partners, from initial discovery through launch, ongoing iteration, and operations
- Design, develop, test, and deploy software solutions that align with functional specifications and technical standards
- Write clean, maintainable, and secure code with attention to performance and reusability
- Translate business requirements and user stories into technical tasks and working features
- Collaborate with senior engineers to refine solution designs and learn architectural best practices
- Integrate systems using REST APIs, message queues, or platform-specific tooling
- Participate in code reviews and incorporate feedback to continuously improve code quality
Technical Architecture & Standards
- Apply established engineering patterns and architectural standards in day-to-day development work
- Begin to contribute to design decisions within assigned features or components
- Build knowledge of enterprise frameworks and principles of scalable system design
- Understand and implement accessibility (A11y) standards, including WCAG and WAI-ARIA, in developed code
Project & Agile Execution
- Participate in sprint planning, daily standups, and retrospectives as part of an agile development team
- Contribute to estimating, scoping, and delivery planning for short-term assignments
- Track progress and document work in Confluence, Jira, ServiceNow or similar platforms
- Support QA and release processes by writing test cases, fixing bugs, and participating in deployment reviews
Collaboration & Growth
- Work closely with product managers, business analysts, and UX designers to understand user needs
- Collaborate with platform engineers, architects, and support teams to ensure system reliability and maintainability
- Seek out and apply feedback from senior engineers to grow technical skills and delivery effectiveness
- Build relationships with other developers and team members across the organization
Operational Support & Documentation
- Provide support for production issues and assist in troubleshooting technical problems
- Develop and maintain documentation for code, systems, features, and processes
- Contribute to ongoing support efforts by improving observability, logging, and incident readiness
- Learn and apply ITSM and ITIL best practices as part of broader platform support
Required Skills & Qualifications:
- Minimum of 3+ years of experience in a software engineering or software development role, with a focus on web or enterprise applications
- Experience with Laravel, WordPress and/or LAMP tech stack with web frameworks, languages, and libraries
- Proficiency JavaScript, React, Java, REST, XML, HTML and CSS
- Strong understanding of development fundamentals including version control, testing, and debugging
- Ability to write maintainable and well-structured code following standard design patterns
- Familiarity with architectural principles and design tradeoffs in building scalable applications
- Willingness to learn and apply enterprise architecture frameworks (e.g., TOGAF)
- Awareness of security, performance, and accessibility considerations in application development
- Experience working in Agile teams using Scrum, Kanban, or SAFe practices
- Ability to break down stories into tasks, manage work in sprint cycles, and deliver incremental value
- Familiarity with tools like Jira, Git, and CI/CD pipelines (GitHub Actions, Jenkins, etc.)
- Comfortable navigating a fast-paced development cycle with short-term deliverables
- Strong communication and collaboration skills; able to explain technical concepts to peers and non-technical stakeholders
- Demonstrated curiosity and willingness to take on new challenges and learn from feedback
- Ability to translate user stories and business outcomes into technical implementation
- Positive, team-oriented mindset and interest in contributing to a supportive and inclusive engineering culture
- Basic understanding of IT operations and software support processes
- Ability to document systems, code, and configuration in a clear and consistent format
- Willingness to assist in incident resolution and learn best practices for reliability and support
Preferred Qualifications:
- Exposure to accessibility standards such as WCAG and use of assistive testing tools is a plus
- Certifications in agile software development methodologies (PMI-ACP, CSPO, SAFe PO/PM, ICP-ACC, etc.)
- Other advanced product, platform, or agile courses/certifications
Required Education:
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Software, Electrical or Electronics Engineering, or comparable field of study, and/or equivalent work experience.

The hiring range for this position in Burbank, California is $141,900.00 - $190,300.00 per year. The hiring range for this position in Orlando, Florida is $111,900.00- $150,000.00 per year. The base pay actually offered will take into account internal equity and also may vary depending on the candidate’s geographic region, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience among other factors. A bonus and/or long-term incentive units may be provided as part of the compensation package, in addition to the full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits, dependent on the level and position offered.
