As a team of special education providers, we understand the education process, IDEA requirements, and the importance of collaboration within multidisciplinary teams. Our mission is to deliver high-quality School Nurse services while making meaningful connections in a collaborative learning environment.
This is a part-time, On-site role as a School Nurse serving a school located in Lee, Massachutes.
The on-site School Nurse will provide direct health services and support to students in a school-based setting, ensuring the safety, health, and well-being of students throughout the school day. This role is responsible for managing student health needs, providing nursing care, maintaining health records, collaborating with school staff and families, and supporting compliance with Massachusetts Department of Elementary and Secondary Education (DESE) health requirements and state regulations.
Job Details
- Part-time, 30-35 hours/week
- Hours 7:58am to 2:30pm
- 2026-2027 School year, August - May/June.
- 12th grade student
- 1:1 Student-nurse ratio
- Review and maintain student Individualized Healthcare Plans (IHPs) and Emergency Care Plans (ECPs).
- Ensure the program remains compliant with Massachutes state health mandates and reporting.
- Participate in virtual IEP or 504 meetings as the medical subject matter expert when required.
- Guaranteed Hours: including documentation, administrative and planning time

- $45.00– $65.00+/hour ($1485-$2145+/week)
Requirements
Qualifications
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in school nursing, pediatric nursing, or a related healthcare setting preferred
- Must hold an active Registered Nurse (RN) license in the Commonwealth of Massachusetts
- Must meet Massachusetts requirements for employment as a School Nurse, including applicable requirements established by the Massachusetts Department of Elementary and Secondary Education (DESE)
- Knowledge of Massachusetts school health regulations, student health requirements, and current standards of care for children in educational settings
- Familiarity with special education laws and student support requirements, including IDEA and Section 504
- Experience maintaining student health records and utilizing electronic health record (EHR) systems preferred
- Experience working with children required
- Previous experience in a school setting preferred, but not required
- Strong organizational and time management skills
- Fingerprint/background clearance required
- Ability to collaborate effectively with school staff, administrators, families, and healthcare providers while maintaining professionalism, confidentiality, and discretion in all communications
Physical Requirements
Working and playing with students requires that employees must be able to perform the necessary physical movement functions, as needed, such as lifting, sitting, walking, standing, crawling, and engaging with students in all physical locations and activities, while adhering to the duties outlined by the district.
