Position Summary
Tiger Electric is seeking a motivated and dependable HVAC Mechanical / Commercial Systems Equipment (CSE) Apprentice to join our growing Repair Services team. This is an excellent opportunity for someone looking to begin a long-term career in commercial HVAC and Commercial Systems Equipment (CSE). Working alongside experienced technicians, you'll receive hands-on training installing, maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing commercial HVAC systems as well as commercial kitchen and restaurant equipment used in restaurants, schools, healthcare facilities, retail, and other commercial buildings.
No previous HVAC or Commercial Systems Equipment experience is required. We're looking for individuals with a strong work ethic, mechanical aptitude, a positive attitude, and a willingness to learn.
Responsibilities
Assist with the installation, maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of commercial HVAC systems and Commercial Systems Equipment (CSE).
Assist in servicing commercial kitchen and restaurant equipment, including ovens, fryers, grills, steamers, ranges, refrigeration equipment, ice machines, dishwashers, and other food service equipment.
Perform preventive maintenance, inspections, and operational testing on HVAC, refrigeration, and commercial food service equipment.
Learn to diagnose mechanical, electrical, refrigeration, gas, and control system issues under the guidance of experienced technicians.
Assist with replacing motors, bearings, belts, valves, controls, electrical components, refrigeration components, and other equipment parts.
Read and interpret equipment manuals, wiring diagrams, blueprints, and technical documentation.
Complete work orders and service documentation using company software.
Maintain tools, equipment, company vehicles, and an organized work area.
Follow all company safety policies, OSHA requirements, and manufacturer specifications.
Communicate professionally with customers, supervisors, and team members.
Participate in ongoing technical training to develop HVAC, refrigeration, electrical, gas appliance, and commercial equipment service skills.
Preferred Qualifications
Trade school or vocational training in HVAC, refrigeration, electrical, mechanical, appliance repair, or a related field.
Previous experience with construction, maintenance, HVAC, refrigeration, restaurant equipment, appliance repair, or mechanical systems.
EPA Section 608 Certification (or willingness to obtain).
Experience using diagnostic tools, electrical meters, and hand or power tools.
Bilingual (English/Spanish) is a plus.
