Position Summary:
The Medical Assistant supports physicians and clinical staff by performing a combination of administrative and clinical duties to ensure efficient patient care and smooth clinic operations. This role requires strong communication skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
Key Responsibilities:
Clinical Duties:
- Prepare patients for examinations by taking vital signs, recording medical histories, and documenting chief complaints
- Assist providers during examinations and procedures
- Administer injections, medications, as directed by the provider
- Perform basic laboratory tests and specimen collection (e.g., blood draws, urine samples)
- Clean and sterilize instruments and maintain exam rooms
- Provide patient education and instructions as directed
Administrative Duties:
- Schedule patient appointments and manage provider calendars
- Verify patient information, insurance, and medical records
- Document patient interactions accurately in the electronic medical record (EMR) system
- Handle phone calls, prescription refills, and patient follow-ups
- Maintain confidentiality in accordance with HIPAA regulations
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent required
- Completion of an accredited Medical Assistant program preferred
- Current certification (CMA, RMA, or equivalent) preferred or required per state guidelines
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification preferred
- Prior clinical experience in a healthcare setting is a plus

- Ability to multitask and prioritize effectively
- Attention to detail and accuracy
- Knowledge of medical terminology and clinical procedures
- Proficiency with EMR systems and basic computer skills
