- Assist head baseball coach in organizing, preparing, and conducting individual and team practices, training, and competition.
- Assist in the recruiting, organizing, motivating and counseling baseball athletes.
- Assist with the tasks associated with recruiting: Letters of Intent (signing) and official visits.
- Monitor the students’ class attendance, study hall, grades, commencement ceremonies and travel.
- Serve as a role model for student-athletes.
- Discipline, monitor personal appearance, conduct, image and general behavior of all student athletes.
- Recruit on/off campus and sign students for Baseball Program.
- Supervise staff and students in the department, who are assigned to this program.
- Acts as a consultant and schedules team travel, hotel, meals and etc.
- Evaluate athletes on physical condition and advises them on maintaining maximum physical fitness for participation in athletic competition.
- Serve as an expert in students’ athletes and educate them on issues affecting intercollegiate athletics.
- Assure that athletes maintain academic eligibility and records of participation are kept and forwarded to the proper agencies and authorities.
- Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university.
- Three or more years of coaching experience at a high school or collegiate level.
- Must have knowledge of NCAA rules.
- Must have knowledge of NCAA rules and regulations pertaining to the recruitment and retention of student-athletes.
- Must possess effective coaching techniques and skills.
- Extension knowledge of individual and team skills with the ability to teach these skills.
- Must have strong interpersonal communication skills and be able to work well with others
- Must be able to travel extensively. Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing and to present information in a clear and concise manner
