Job Overview & Responsibilities
Job responsibilities include performing structural analysis of transportation hardware and hoist fixtures, access platforms, tools, launch platforms, booms, umbilical’s and disconnects, and pipe systems.
Evaluation of hardware non-conformances to support fabrication and launch site activities.
Support fast-paced design/analysis cycles in support of development programs.
Create analysis models, perform hand calculations and have an understanding of analysis best practices to provide strength inputs and recommendations for new designs and installations.
Review and approve 2-D drawings and procurement specifications for a variety of mechanical and propulsion system components.
Document analysis results in strength reports and support analysis peer reviews.
When anomalies occur, supports causal analysis that leads to effective resolution and corrective actions that prevent recurrence.
Participate in internal/external design reviews, technical interchange meetings (TIMs), and present analysis products at preliminary design reviews (PDR), critical design reviews (CDR) and design certification reviews (DCR).

Basic Qualifications
This is an entry level position that requires a Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Civil, Aerospace Engineering or related technical field from an accredited college or university.
Strong communication skills and the ability to work as part of a team. Builds trust with teammates, can prioritize and execute tasks effectively for self that are aligned to program plans, and has the ability to respectfully give and receive constructive criticism.
Work may be performed at company or vendor facilities that require safety training and strict adherence to safety policies.
Must be available for occasional travel to the other ULA sites or vendors. Must possess a valid driver's license to drive between work locations on a military base where public transportation is not available.
Preferred Qualifications
Familiarity of structural analysis concepts including:
Finite Element Analysis (FEA).
Classical hand analysis methods.
Welded/bolted steel and aluminum structural analysis.
Familiarity with mechanical ground systems.
Familiarity with machine shop practices.
Familiarity with Simcenter 3D and/or FEMAP for structural analysis.
Microsoft Office Applications (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Project).
Summary Salary Range (for ULA - Denver, ULA - Cape Canaveral only): $67,895.00 - $113,159.00
Please note that the salary information shown above is a general guideline only. Salaries are based upon a candidate's experience and qualifications, as well as internal equity, market and business considerations. Employees may be eligible for a discretionary annual bonus in addition to base pay.
