Senator Jacky Rosen (D-NV) seeks an Energy & Environment Legislative Assistant / Policy Advisor to manage an active portfolio including Public Lands, Energy, Environment, Water, Natural Resources, and Tribal Affairs. The staffer may also handle Agriculture policy depending on experience. Responsibilities will include advancing the Senator’s legislative agenda, advising the Senator on policy matters, developing and advancing legislation, providing vote recommendations on issues within the assigned policy portfolio, and representing the Senator in meetings with constituents and advocates.
Candidates must have at least 5-7 years of professional experience in public lands and renewable energy policy. Individuals with experience in water policy, ranching, mining, and working closely with Tribes are strongly preferred. Significant experience serving in a legislative capacity in a Senate or House office, on a Congressional committee, or in a senior role in the Executive Branch is required. Western ties are very strongly preferred, and Nevada ties are a plus. Veterans and candidates with diverse backgrounds are encouraged to apply. This office is an equal opportunity employer.
