Join Northeast Career Planning at Unity House of Troy as an Ongoing Integrated Supported Employment (OISE) Employment Specialist and make a lasting impact in your community.

This position is designed to provide employment support services to individuals with Serious Mental Illness (SMI), helping them obtain and maintain competitive employment opportunities in the community. The Employment Specialist will utilize the Individual Placement and Support (IPS) model of supported employment and work collaboratively with mental health providers and other community partners to promote successful employment outcomes.

Key Responsibilities
Support individuals living with Serious Mental Illness (SMI) to obtain and maintain competitive employment within the community.
Work collaboratively with other Employment Specialists and programs across Unity House of Troy to support participant success.
Coordinate services with Adult Career and Continuing Education Services – Vocational Rehabilitation (ACCES-VR) and other community partners, as appropriate.
Support individuals' mental health treatment goals to promote sustained employment outcomes.
Learn and implement the Individual Placement and Support (IPS) employment model and adhere to all applicable policies and procedures.
Conduct regular assessments and ongoing follow-up to ensure participants' continued success in employment.
Provide referrals and direct connections to mental health and supportive services as needed.
Complete all required documentation, reports, and assessments accurately and within established timeframes.
Spend at least 50% of scheduled work hours providing services in the community.
Promote a culture of inclusion, belonging, and respect.
Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Psychology, Human Services, Social Work, Rehabilitation Counseling, or a related field preferred.
Certified Peer Specialist credential preferred.
Minimum of one (1) year of experience working with individuals living with Serious Mental Illness (SMI).
Experience assisting individuals with obtaining and maintaining employment preferred.
An equivalent combination of education and experience will be considered.
Valid and clean New York State driver's license required.
Reliable transportation required.
Ability to work independently, manage multiple priorities, and provide services in community settings.
