University Behavioral Center, a subsidiary of Universal Health Services, Inc. (UHS), is committed to providing intensive mental health services to children, adolescents and adults as well as detox and substance abuse programs for adults. Our mental health facility provides safe and effective inpatient treatment to assist individuals in leading more productive and fulfilling lives. The facility is located on a beautiful 14-acre campus in Orlando, Florida, and includes 112 licensed beds. We are currently seeking qualified professionals with active/clear license in the state of Florida. Previous experience in a psychiatric facility or rehabilitation program is required.
Position Summary
This is a Part-Time position
Job Duties/Responsibilities
- Requests clinical information on potential patients;
- Initiates verification of insurance coverage to determine viability of insurance for individuals seeking admission;
- Coordinates admissions with all necessary unit staff and Physician;
- Follows EMTALA regulations and identifies high risk individuals presenting for emergency car

- Current license to practice nursing in the State of Florida
- Current CPR or BLS certification.
- Preferred one year of experience working in a psychiatric inpatient setting with patients aged 5-65yrs+.
Skills:
- Proficiency in medical terminology for medical documentation is preferred.
- Experience with behavioral health patient is preferred.
- Knowledge of patient care principles for adult psychiatric patients is beneficial.
- Experience working with children in a psychiatric setting is highly desirable.
- Competence in taking vital signs accurately.
- Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, to interact effectively with patients, families, and healthcare professionals.
- Strong critical thinking and clinical reasoning skills.
