The Financial Aid Specialist II provides financial aid services to students enrolled at the University of Louisville School of Dentistry, located at 501 S. Preston Street, Louisville, KY 40202.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Assure processing and delivery of financial aid for the ULSD student population utilizing updates on federal regulations, software systems, changes in processing, accountability for scholarship accounts, and general reporting of dental financial aid figures. Ensure that entrance counseling is completed prior to the disbursement of loans, exit counseling is conducted prior to graduation, and ongoing counseling is provided in a timely manner as needed for alumni.
Provide financial literacy programming for dental students, including but not limited to, providing counseling for current students to assess need and educate on loan options, educate students on scholarship searches, payment plans. Educate students on understanding their university billing summary and coordinating presentations on financial literacy.
Resolve problem issues regarding student accounts and dental school financial aid, billing, courses and new programs. Including, but not limited to analyzing student billing accounts for errors, calculating and analyzing awards and cost of attendance to assure accuracy, staying current of continuously changing internal and external program changes, staying updated on all federal regulations that affect financial aid.
Ensure that Post‐Graduate Dental students are counseled and understand their financial responsibilities to ULSD. This includes monitoring Post‐Graduate student accounts to ensure their bills are posted to their accounts, manually packaging each student to ensure that their budgets reflect that they are Post‐Graduate students and reviewing each student's NSLDS report individually to ensure that they have not met their loan limits from their previous Undergraduate and Professional School careers.
Establish guidelines, review, and complete all professional judgement requests by students.
Complete necessary reports for ADEA, ADA, and HRSA programs, Complete annual endowment activity report. Attend weekly meetings and trainings at the Financial Aid Office on Belknap Campus. Attend annual conferences in order to stay current on financial aid rules, regulations, and trends.
Complete invoices and ensure that bills are paid for those students receiving the National Health Services Corps Scholarship.
Serve on the scholarship committee to ensure that scholarships are awarded accordingly based on fund availability and charitable gift agreements.
Assist the Office of Student affairs & Admissions with special events such as DMD and Dental Hygiene interview Days, Open Houses, and Orientation.
Other duties as assigned.
Compensation will be commensurate to candidate experience.
