EXAMPLE OF DUTIES The successful candidate will mainly be required to teach introductory biology laboratories, both for non-majors and for biology majors; non-majors introductory biology lectures will also be a frequent teaching responsibility. Depending on the candidate’s background, the successful candidate may also teach Human Anatomy & Physiology and/or Clinical Microbiology laboratories.
In addition to teaching, the successful candidate will also be responsible for coordinating introductory biology laboratories. Lab coordination duties primarily include, but are not limited to:
- Determining the weekly laboratory schedule for each semester.
- Ordering supplies and materials for the laboratories.
- Setting up and tearing down laboratory preps for all instructors.
This position is also responsible for maintaining the department’s greenhouse and supervising student workers who will provide assistance in carrying out most non-teaching responsibilities, including those related to lab coordination.
