- Demonstrate empathetic disposition and perseverance, reflect optimistic and positive attitude, and convey sensitivity to needs of the donors;
- Enter contact reports in Raiser’s Edge promptly;
- Work collaboratively with advancement staff, faculty and leadership across campus, sharing prospect strategy with advancement staff;
- Focus on securing support for priorities outlined in UNCSA’s strategic plan, including academic and artistic programs, scholarships, unrestricted support, facilities and campus improvements, and other areas as directed.
- Stay current on best practices and trends in Parent and Family Giving.
- Parent & Family Giving Portfolio
- Maintain a portfolio of parent and family member gift prospects and actively work in all aspects of the gift cycle, including prospect qualification, cultivation, solicitation, renewals, upgrades, and stewardship.
- Build and advance strong relationships with prospective, current, and past parents and family members that result in philanthropic contributions.
- Work closely with members of the Annual Giving Team, LAG/Major/Principal Gift DODs, Planned Giving, Donor Relations, Special Events, and Prospect Development in strategizing, engagement, proposal development, gift solicitation, and stewardship of constituents.
- Assist in planning and execution of programming and special events on campus, regionally, and virtually for parents and family members. Collaborate with campus partners who impact parent constituents to achieve stronger parent communications and increased parent engagement.
- Assist in analysis of parent data to measure and track growth of program development.
- Giving Circles – The ADOD, P&FG will work collaboratively with the SDOD, Annual & Family Giving, ADOD, LAG and Special Events in the cultivation, solicitation, stewardship, and events/activities associated with the Parent Leadership Circle, Deans Circles, and Giannini Society.
- Annual Giving – The ADOD,P&FG will work with the Annual Giving Program Manager to coordinate, leverage, and segment annual giving activities directed to parents and family members such as Days of Giving and Brick Program.
- Experience working in a university setting is strongly preferred
- Experience working in an arts-related organization is strongly preferred
- Experience working with parents is strongly preferred
- Experience working with / managing a nonprofit or university board is strongly preferred
