The University of Northern Iowa's Department of Management in the David W. Wilson College of Business seeks applications for a tenure-track Assistant or Associate Professor of Management, starting August 2027. Primary teaching responsibilities will be courses in international management and strategic management at the undergraduate and graduate levels. Applicants seeking a balance in teaching/research responsibilities will find a collegial work environment and a faculty actively engaged and committed to the growth and continuous improvement of the majors in the Management Department. Salary and benefits are competitive with peer institutions.
Education Requirements:
Ph.D. in Strategic Management, International Business/Management, or a related discipline from an AACSB-accredited doctoral program required. ABDs are welcome to apply with an expected degree completion date by August 1, 2027.
Required Qualifications:
Demonstrated potential for excellence in teaching with evidence of a student-focused approach; demonstrated ability to produce peer-reviewed publishable research that provides insights into issues critical for decision-makers; strong organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills; and enterprising and demonstrated effectiveness as a member of a collaborative team required. Assistant-level applicants must demonstrate the potential to produce peer-reviewed, publishable research that provides insights into issues critical for decision-makers. Associate-level applicants must demonstrate evidence of scholarship appropriate for the rank.
Preferred Qualifications:
Stand-alone or independent teaching experience; and relevant work experience in a firm preferred.
The Wilson College of Business (business.uni.edu) is AACSB-accredited with separate accounting accreditation and offers Bachelor of Arts degrees in five departments (Accounting, Economics, Finance, Management, and Marketing & Entrepreneurship) along with MBA and MAcc degrees. The Management Department is home to five majors: Business Analytics (with two emphases – Decision Support and Artificial Intelligence), Management Information Systems, Management (with two emphases – Business Administration and Organizational Leadership), Human Resource Management, and Supply Chain Management. Faculty in the Management Department are intellectually curious, actively engaged in meaningful scholarship, and seek to be exceptional teachers. The department provides a supportive environment for faculty development, growth, and professional success.
