The Wisconsin Union is recruiter for two shift managers! The positions are part of the team that oversees some of our most popular venues in the Memorial Union: Lakefront Lounge, Daily Scoop, Strada, and the summer terrace BBQ stand.
Job duties include:
- Overseeing quality food preparation and presentation
- Customer service
- Guiding and directing staff
- Training and supervision of student staff.

Physical Demands:
- Ability to lift and carry 50 pounds occasionally needed

Work Schedule and Location:
This position is scheduled to work a combination of days, nights and weekends, with 2 days off in a row.
Operational and work schedules will be closely aligned with the services and customer needs of our units. As a result, work schedules will be adjusted during specific times of the year to meet demand.
Key Job Responsibilities:
- Cleans, inspects, and maintains kitchen equipment and work areas
- Performs routine and non-routine food preparation activities including cook to order and specialty foods
- Leads and provides exceptional customer service, answers questions, and provides information regarding food preparation, catering, and associated activities
- Assigns and coordinates the day-to-day activities of food service staff
- Develops and schedules logistics and menus for daily and catering operations
- Adheres to federal, state, campus, and local food safety regulations, policies, and procedures
- Enforcement of State and Local drinking laws and University policies and procedures.
- Other duties as described and assigned by supervisor

Compensation:
The expected starting salary is 22.50/ hour. This position is also eligible for weekend and night differential pay.

Certifications:
ServSafe Certificate required or able to obtain within 6 months of hire
Alcohol Server License required or able to obtain within 6 months of hire
