Employment Type: Full Time, In-Person
Actual compensation will be determined based on job-related factors such as, relevant experience, education, certifications, licensure, and skills that align with the role.
- Assesses health status by interviewing patient regarding current status and medical history; assisting in physical exam and psychosocial assessment.
- Reviews and reports the results of the health status assessment and physical examination, pertinent laboratory data, radiographic data and psychosocial assessment of assigned patients to the transplant physician and supervisor.
- In collaboration with transplant physician, manages symptoms/toxicities/health abnormalities related to the intense high dose therapy, stem cell rescue as well as CAR-T therapy administered within the practice.
- Provides psychosocial support to patients and families throughout the transplant process.
- As necessary, facilitates communication between patient/family and interdisciplinary team and coordinates services related to patient care.
- Facilitates and schedules consultations, pre-testing, diagnostic tests or procedures and future appointments for patients.
- Provides patient care utilizing nursing processes and procedures: assesses plans, implements and evaluates care.
- Maintains written and/or computer documentation of assigned patient care and treatments provided and paperwork required for reimbursement purposes.
- Reports data to company Transplant Network, International Autologous and Blood and Marrow Transplant Registries and other appropriate bodies. Incorporates company Transplant Network recommendations into clinical practice as assigned.
- Promotes continuity of care consistent with established standards and practices by communicating with caregivers in other settings as necessary.
- Participates in clinical studies relative to chemotherapy and care of the IEC patient.
- Maintains equipment according to quality control standards.
- Assists in providing patient, family and community education to those interested in the process of stem cell transplantation or CAR-T therapy.
- Assists with IEC program developme
- Nursing degree (BSN preferred) from an accredited program for professional nursing education.
- Minimum three years medical/surgical nursing experience, one-year oncology experience preferred.
- Experience and knowledge of the purpose and use of chemotherapy in the treatment of cancer.
- Current RN state license.
- Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS) certification
