RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Assist with balance sheet account cleanup and reconcile various balance sheet accounts on a monthly, quarterly or annual basis; includes a focus on AP and AR.
- Assist with Accounts Payable including identifying process efficiencies.
- Assist with grants billing and processing as needed
- Prepare and enter approved journal entries.
- Create and upload reports for EFTs and the positive pay program.
- Provide customer service to external and internal partners related to receivables.
- Assist as needed with the annual audit; prepare requested audit schedules.
- Assist with the identification of deficiencies in internal controls and the development of compensating/alternate controls to strengthen the identified weaknesses.
- Continuously search for improvements to accelerate/improve the billing process and cash application process.
- Serve as key player in accounting system conversion.
- Other projects as assigned.
- A bachelor’s degree in accounting, or a related education/experience combination.
- Proficient at Microsoft Office products.
- Ability to develop and integrate AI applications.
- The ability to effectively handle confidential information and materials.
- Proven oral and written communication skills.
- Experience in non-profit accounting.
- Maintain compliance with Volunteers of America, regulatory and funding source requirements.
- Provide accurate financial and other data in a timely and concise manner.
- To model agency core values of integrity, compassion, diversity, commitment & justice to all internal and external contacts.
