The Associate Maintenance Engineer is a hands-on technical role responsible for maintaining, troubleshooting, repairing, and improving manufacturing equipment and facility systems to support production. This position works directly on the production floor alongside Maintenance Technicians and Production to diagnose equipment failures, perform preventive maintenance, and assist with equipment installations. The Associate Maintenance Engineer is expected to spend most of their time in the manufacturing environment supporting equipment reliability, minimizing downtime, and improving overall equipment performance.
Work Schedule - 12 Hour rotating schedule (3/2/2/3) with every other weekend off.
Essential Job Duties and Responsibilities:
- Performs hands-on troubleshooting, repair, and maintenance of production equipment and automated manufacturing systems.
- Assists Maintenance Technicians with mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, hydraulic, and PLC-related equipment issues.
- Responds to equipment breakdowns and help restore production equipment to operational status in a timely manner.
- Performs preventive and predictive maintenance on manufacturing equipment according to established schedules.
- Conducts equipment inspections to identify wear, damage, or potential failures before they impact production.
- Installs, assembles, and commissions new production equipment, machinery, and manufacturing systems.
- Supports equipment startups, changeovers, and production line adjustments.
- Troubleshoots conveyors, motors, gearboxes, sensors, pneumatic cylinders, valves, and automated equipment.
- Assists with replacing machine components including bearings, belts, chains, rollers, motors, pumps, and electrical devices.
- Reads and interpret electrical schematics, mechanical drawings, equipment manuals, and technical documentation.
- Assists in diagnosing PLC-controlled equipment and works to resolve automation issues.
- Performs root cause analysis on equipment failures and recommend corrective actions.
- Identifies opportunities to improve equipment reliability, safety, productivity, and overall equipment effectiveness (OEE).
- Maintains accurate maintenance records, work orders, and repair documentation.
- Ensures all maintenance activities are completed safely and comply with OSHA regulations and company policies.
- Participates in Lean Manufacturing, 5S, TPM, Kaizen, and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Maintains a clean, organized, and safe work area.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
- Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering, Electrical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or a related engineering discipline required.
- 0–2 years of maintenance, manufacturing, or engineering experience in an industrial environment.
- Internship, co-op, or hands-on maintenance experience is preferred.
- Experience working with automated manufacturing equipment is a plus.
- Exposure to LEAN methodology concepts is beneficial.
- Proficiency in English language skills.

- Ability to stand and walk for extended periods during a 12-hour shift.
- Frequently bend, kneel, climb ladders, squat, crawl, and work in confined spaces.
- Lift and carry up to 50 pounds on a basis.
- Physical ability to work in both office and manufacturing environments
