QUALITY ASSURANCE TECHNICIAN - Manufcaturing

***This position is designed for individuals looking to develop into Quality Assurance Leads, Quality Engineers, Audit Leads, Quality Managers, or various Lead/Management Roles.

We are seeking a Quality Assurance Technician to join our Quality Team in a high-mix / low-volume manufacturing environment.

A successful Quality Assurance Technician at WEBCO will be detail-oriented and process-focused, supporting inspections, quality systems, audits, and continuous improvement initiatives throughout the organization. This role requires a can-do attitude, strong attention to detail, and the ability to work closely with production, engineering, customers, and suppliers to ensure products consistently meet requirements.

Skills/Requirements:

• High School Diploma or GED required
• Associate Degree in Quality, Manufacturing, Engineering Technology, or related field preferred
• OR equivalent hands-on manufacturing, quality, fabrication, machining, welding, or inspection experience
• Minimum 1 year of quality inspection experience preferred
• Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, GD&T, and tolerances
• Experience using calipers, micrometers, height gauges, thread gauges, and other inspection equipment
• Strong attention to detail, organization, and problem-solving skills
• Basic computer proficiency including Microsoft Office

Preferred:

• Experience in sheet metal fabrication environments
• Understanding of laser cutting, press brake forming, welding, machining, powder coating, and assembly processes
• Experience with CMM equipment and inspection software
• Knowledge of ISO 9001, APQP, PPAP, NCRs, Corrective Actions, and Root Cause Analysis
• Experience supporting audits and quality system documentation

Job Duties:

• Perform incoming, in-process, first article, and final inspections
• Inspect fabricated, machined, welded, painted, and assembled components
• Document inspection results and maintain quality records
• Support NCR investigations, corrective actions, and root cause analysis
• Assist with PPAP, APQP, and customer quality requirements
• Support calibration activities and inspection equipment management
• Participate in internal, customer, and ISO audits
• Support ISO 9001 compliance, document control, and QMS maintenance
• Monitor quality metrics and quality system effectiveness
• Work directly with production teams to identify and resolve quality issues
• Support Lean Manufacturing and continuous improvement initiatives
