Physician Assistant – Orthopedic Services HealthAlliance Hospital – Kingston, NY Schedule: Part time, 32 hours/week
Summary:
The Department of Orthopedics, in collaboration with the Center for Advanced Practice, is seeking a Physician Assistant (PA) to join our expanding and innovative team. In this position, the PA will work alongside Orthopedic Surgeons providing comprehensive inpatient and Ambulatory Orthopedic care throughout the course of their hospital stay. This includes consultative services, daily inpatient rounds, follow up evaluations, operating room first assist, postoperative management, Orthopedic procedures, and acute Orthopedic Trauma evaluation and management. You will also collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, including Trauma, Nursing, PT, OT, and Case Management. Why Join Us?

- Respond to Orthopedic Trauma activations in the Emergency Department and perform procedures such as reducing, splinting, and immobilizing fractures and dislocations as appropriate.
- Be part of a supportive culture where PAs are integral to the team, not an afterthought
- Candidates must be board certified as a Physician Assistant and possess, or be able to obtain, a New York State PA License.
- Ideal candidates will have a minimum of 1-year experience, although highly motivated new graduates with interest and abilities in surgery will be considered and are encouraged to apply.
- Must possess excellent communication skills and demonstrate an ability to work as part of a multidisciplinary team.
- Candidates must have BLS, ACLS, PALS, and ATLS
Responsibilities:
- Performing medical evaluations, treatment, follow-up and consultations.
- PAs are able to 1st Assist in the Operating Room on open and minimally invasive procedures.
- Delivering direct patient care as part of a collaborative patient care team.
- Gaining a working competency of procedures.
