Job Summary

The Cost Analyst Engineer will collaborate closely with engineering, supply chain, procurement, manufacturing, and finance teams to evaluate product cost structures, analyze variances, and identify opportunities for operational and design efficiencies.

Key Responsibilities:

Cost Estimation & Analysis

• Develop comprehensive cost estimates for new product introductions (NPI), engineering changes, and production programs.
• Analyze bill of materials (BOM), labor standards, overhead allocations, and capital expenditures.
• Support RFQ and customer proposal processes with detailed cost modeling.
• Conduct cost impact analysis for design modifications and engineering change orders (ECOs).

Financial Performance Monitoring

• Perform cost variance analysis comparing estimated, standard, and actual costs.
• Monitor project budgets and identify risks related to margin erosion or cost overruns.
• Prepare detailed cost reports and executive summaries for management review.
• Support forecasting and budgeting cycles.

Cost Optimization & Value Engineering

• Partner with engineering and manufacturing teams to identify cost-reduction opportunities.
• Evaluate supplier quotations and provide cost benchmarking analysis.
• Support value engineering initiatives to improve product competitiveness.
• Participate in cross-functional continuous improvement initiatives.

Systems & Data Management

• Maintain cost databases and ensure integrity of cost data within ERP systems.
• Develop standardized costing templates and tools to enhance efficiency and accuracy.
• Utilize advanced Excel modeling and analytics tools to support reporting and decision-making.
• Assist in automation of recurring cost analysis processes.

Cross-Functional Collaboration

• Work closely with procurement and supply chain to analyze material cost trends.
• Provide financial insights during product development milestones.
• Support internal audits and compliance with corporate financial controls.
• Participate in strategic planning and cost roadmap development.

Education/Experience

• Bachelor’s degree in industrial engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, or a related technical discipline.
• 2–5 years of experience in cost analysis, manufacturing finance, or engineering cost control.

• Requires on-site support within factory areas as needed.
• Occasional extended hours or off-shift support required for critical incidents.

Physical Demands:

• Ability to walk and stand for extended periods within a factory environment.
• Ability to handle and install IT equipment such as desktops, laptops, and peripherals.

Pay: From $62,100.00 per year
