Perform basic laboratory tests, such as urinalysis and pregnancy tests, and accurately record results in patient charts.
- Administrative Duties: Schedule patient appointments and manage the clinic's appointment calendar efficiently. Maintain electronic medical records (EMR) and ensure accurate documentation of patient information, including medical history, medications, and allergies. Handle patient inquiries, phone calls, and messages promptly and professionally. Assist with insurance verification, billing, and coding processes as needed.
- Clinical Support: Assist healthcare providers during examinations, procedures, and surgeries as required. Sterilize and prepare medical instruments and equipment for procedures and ensure compliance with infection control protocols. Stock exam rooms with necessary supplies and ensure equipment is in proper working order. Maintain cleanliness and organization of exam rooms and clinical areas.
- Collaboration and Teamwork: Collaborate effectively with physicians, nurses, and other healthcare team members to ensure coordinated patient care. Participate in team meetings, trainings, and quality improvement initiatives to enhance patient care delivery and clinic operations.
- Compliance and Safety: Adhere to HIPAA regulations and maintain patient confidentiality at all times. Follow clinic policies and procedures related to safety, infection control, and OSHA guidelines. Stay updated on industry regulations, best practices, and emerging trends in women's health and medical assisting.
- High school diploma or equivalent required; completion of a medical assistant training program preferred.
- Certification or registration as a Medical Assistant (CMA/RMA) is strongly preferred.
- Prior experience working in a women's health or OBGYN setting is highly desirable.
- Proficiency in medical terminology, EMR systems, and basic clinical procedures.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to interact effectively with patients, healthcare providers, and colleagues.
