- Oversees and maintains the college’s student information systems for registration, scheduling, and curricula functions and implements best practices; ensures compliance with and data integrity of student records; oversees record verification and record requests; updates systems to reflect current curriculum requirements; works with IT and institutional research colleagues to recommend and implement system changes; maintains accurate course listings/descriptions; updates campus community and provides training materials to system users specific to registration, scheduling, and curricula matters; and collaborates with CEWD to develop processes to maintain non-degree records
- Works with deans and department heads to develop and maintain articulation and partnership agreements for course transfer with four-year institutions; serves as the college’s lead transfer representative; ensures compliance with initiatives such as the Maryland Transfer with Success Act; makes updates to software and databases as required; helps to create and maintain college transfer policies; and prepares, analyzes and reports on transfer data
- As subject matter expert, provides leadership, guidance and training, and ensures full compliance with all applicable regulations, college policies and academic standards related to student records, including but not limited to the Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act (FERPA), federal Title IV enrollment reporting requirements, U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs education benefit certification requirements, and National Junior College Athletic Association (NJCAA) regulations
- Maintains all credit for prior learning awards and makes recommendations to leadership when there are opportunities to expand or modify these awards; performs student degree audits to determine eligibility for graduation and informs students of their status; disseminates graduate information to campus departments; and resolves graduation requirement issues
- Collaborates with internal stakeholders to inform, develop, interpret and enforce applicable academic, student and administrative policies; consults with faculty and staff regarding new and changing programs and courses; and serves on assigned committees
- Oversees transactions associated with the credit student registration process, including add/drop, enrollment, attendance, grade reporting, course substitutions, and change of grade approvals
- Serves as an enrollment coach by discussing career choices and basic financial aid processes, determining placement status, and helping students review and select their academic program or non-credit courses
- Manages and/or contributes to the annual and five-year comprehensive department assessment process
- Performs other duties as assigned
