We hire ahead of the need to ensure we have the best possible service level for our membership while providing learning space for our teammates. If selected for employment, the candidate will be placed in one of the Thurston County branches as openings occur. Your day might include:
- Performing all branch functions including consumer lending, opening new accounts, and providing teller services
- Striving for and hitting your sales and service goals, while keeping the member’s best interest front and center
- Contributing to your teams successes and celebrating along the way
- Building and nurturing strong relationships with your members
- Understanding your members’ journey, offering products and services to meet their unique needs

What you bring to the team:
Current WSECU Member Consultants I, II, or III who apply will be hired in the same tier as you currently hold
For Member Consultant I
- Minimum of one (1) year experience in a financial institution or retail/service-related position
- Computer experience including proficiency in Microsoft Outlook, Excel and Word
- Must be willing to register with the Nationwide Mortgage Licensing System and Registry, including fingerprinting and a national criminal background check, and maintain and renew the registration annually
Competitive pay for MCI: $21.50 - $32.25 per hour, dependent on relevant qualifications, plus an annual discretionary incentive plan and benefits package
- The target starting pay for this position is $21.50 - $26.87 per hour, typically within the first half of the range. Actual offers will be based on individual qualifications relevant to the role and will not take an applicant’s pay history into account.
- The range above allows our employees room for growth through annual merit and other pay increases during their tenure in the position.
For Member Consultant II
- Minimum of one (1) years’ experience in a financial institution processing consumer loans, new accounts and member transactions
- Computer experience including proficiency in Microsoft Outlook, Excel and Word
- Must be willing to register with the Nationwide Mortgage Licensing System and Registry, including fingerprinting and a national criminal background check, and maintain and renew the registration annually
Competitive pay for MCII: $24.05 - $36.07 per hour, dependent on relevant qualifications, plus an annual discretionary incentive plan and benefits package
- The target starting pay for this position is $24.05 - $30.06 per hour, typically within the first half of the range. Actual offers will be based on individual qualifications relevant to the role and will not take an applicant’s pay history into account.
- The range above allows our employees room for growth through annual merit and other pay increases during their tenure in the position.
Bonus points if you have:
- Credit Union experience
- Two (2) years of college (MC II)
- Experience with cash handling, lending, new accounts or a combination
- Experience with: Symitar, Meridian Link, Image Center, Application Xtender, and Coconut
Where we’re located: Multiple branches within Pierce County
Lakewood: 9540 Bridgeport Way SW, Lakewood, WA 98499
Tacoma James: 6909 S 19th St, Tacoma, WA 98466
When you’d work: Monday-Friday, 8:00 am–6:00 pm, Saturday 9:15 am–2:30 pm. Part time, minimum of 20 hours per week and may be scheduled up to 34 hours per week, occasionally working more hours requiring scheduling flexibility based on business needs
