Status: Part-Time Hourly FLSA Classification: Non-Exempt
Summary of Position: The Licensed Mental Health Professional (LMHP) is responsible for providing counseling to youth with serious emotional disturbances and their families.
- Services may be provided in the participant’s home or appropriate community settings, or in the YAP office, and may include formal assessments, service planning, and individual, family, and group counseling.
- The LMHP will deliver services targeted toward increasing the youth’s natural supports and strengths, fostering resilience, and recovery.
- The LMHP is responsible for accurately documenting services, participating in Child & Family Team meetings as needed, and communicating participant progress to supervisors, team members, and the referring authority.
- The LMHP is responsible for supervision of the Qualified Mental Health Professional (QMHP) staff on an as needed basis.
- All services are delivered in compliance with the Virginia Medicaid Provider Procedures Manual, the Virginia Department of Behavioral Health and Developmental Services regulations, the regulations of the Virginia Department of Health Professional-Board of Counseling, YAP Standards and policies, and all state and federal regulations governing the delivery of services.
Qualifications/Requirements:
- Master’s Degree from an accredited college or university.
- Valid Virginia Licensure (LCSW, LPC, LMFT, or LPC-Resident, LCSE-Supervisee, LMFT-Resident)
- Experience working with at-risk youth, adolescents, and families
- Knowledge of community and community resources
- Proficient in computer skills and Microsoft Office; Experience using an electronic health record (EHR) system a plus.
- Position requires reliable transportation, valid driver’s license, and current auto insurance coverage.
- Bilingual (Spanish Speaking) is a plus.
