Position Overview:
The Technical Project Manager works closely with the Youth Villages’ Data Science, Business Intelligence, IT, Finance, HR, Clinical Services, and other departments to support the organization’s strategic priorities. Projects may include supporting projects for Youth Villages’ proprietary clinical platform, GuideTree, supporting Clinical Services with technology-related tools and systems, and evaluating and implementing new software as a project manager within a cross-functional team. This position will utilize best practices and robust project management in all activities, providing value to internal and external users, while meeting organizational requirements. They will also work on special projects as requested by the Director, CIO, and other members of the leadership team, as needed.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
The Technical Project Manager:
Acts as point of contact, answering questions and providing guidance as needed to ensure delivery of high-quality workUnderstands and documents current and future state processes
Partners with external vendor(s) to develop and manage project plan(s), including the budget
Develops and manages the project(s), communication, resource plan(s), and processes
Analyzes all management and technical processes to ensure delivery as expected
Meets regularly with project stakeholders and vendor(s), defining project goals and objectives
Schedules meetings and manages project timeline(s)
Generates regular reports to update stakeholders and manages project expectations
Defines roles and responsibilities of the team and determines clear deliverables alongside vendor(s), Director, and CIO
Collaborates with stakeholders to document requirements, needs, and tasks in Microsoft Planner and Teams
Performs other duties as assigned
Additional Information:
Work must be performed from a secure, private home office workplace with a reliable high-speed internet connection; environment should have moderate noise level consistent with a standard home office.
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience (required)
Computer Science, Business, Engineering, IT Management, or related field (strongly preferred)
2+ years of experience working in Information Technology or similar field (preferred)
3+ years of project management or similarly related experience in lieu of degree (acceptable)
Professional Project Management Certification (preferred)
Experience with non-profits (preferred)
Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
Excellent written, verbal, and oral skills
Ability to manage multiple priorities simultaneously
Proficient with Microsoft Office products
Ability to maintain a flexible schedule
