Frame credentials around regulated industry training
Affirm operates under financial services compliance requirements, so tailor your portfolio to show experience designing mandatory compliance, risk, or regulatory training. Hiring teams for Learning Specialist roles prioritize candidates who understand high-stakes, audit-ready learning environments.
Target Affirm's distributed workforce learning needs
Affirm runs a remote-first organization, so your application should highlight experience building scalable digital learning programs, not classroom facilitation. Roles often require ownership of LMS administration and asynchronous content delivery across multiple time zones.
Confirm LCA posting before accepting an offer
Before your H-1B or TN filing begins, Affirm's legal team must post a certified Labor Condition Application from the DOL for your specific role and worksite. Ask your recruiter to confirm this step is underway before you give notice to a current employer.
Use Migrate Mate to surface open Learning Specialist roles
Affirm posts Learning Specialist openings across multiple channels at varying times. Use Migrate Mate to filter verified sponsorship-eligible positions at Affirm directly, so you're applying to roles where visa support is already confirmed rather than guessing from a standard job board.
Understand how F-1 OPT bridges to H-1B at fintech employers
If you're on F-1 OPT, Affirm can employ you while sponsoring an H-1B in the next lottery window. STEM OPT gives you up to 24 additional months of work authorization, which is often enough runway to clear the H-1B cap-subject process without a gap.
Prepare for PERM documentation early if targeting Green Card
EB-2 and EB-3 PERM filings require Affirm to document that no qualified U.S. workers were available for your exact role. Start organizing transcripts, professional certifications, and prior employment verification now so the DOL recruitment period can begin without delays on your end.

Find Learning Specialist at Affirm JobsFrequently Asked Questions
Does Affirm sponsor H-1B visas for Learning Specialists?
Yes, Affirm sponsors H-1B visas for Learning Specialist roles. Affirm has an established pattern of filing H-1B petitions for corporate functions including learning and development. Because the H-1B is cap-subject, timing matters: your employer must register you in the annual USCIS lottery, typically in March, for an October 1 start date. Candidates already on H-1B with another employer can transfer without waiting for the lottery.
How do I apply for Learning Specialist jobs at Affirm?
Apply through Affirm's careers page or use Migrate Mate to browse verified sponsorship-eligible Learning Specialist openings at Affirm directly. Tailor your resume and portfolio to reflect instructional design for distributed, compliance-heavy environments. Affirm's hiring process typically includes a portfolio or work sample review, so prepare examples of e-learning modules, onboarding programs, or regulatory training you've built end-to-end.
Which visa types does Affirm commonly use for Learning Specialist roles?
Affirm sponsors H-1B, TN, F-1 OPT, F-1 CPT, and Green Card pathways including EB-2 and EB-3 for Learning Specialist positions. H-1B is the most common route for full-time hires. TN is available to Canadian and Mexican nationals with qualifying degrees. F-1 OPT and CPT allow students to work while studying or immediately after graduation, with STEM OPT providing an extended authorization window.
What qualifications does Affirm expect for Learning Specialist roles?
Affirm typically looks for a bachelor's degree in instructional design, education, organizational development, or a related field, along with hands-on experience building digital learning programs. Familiarity with LMS platforms, e-learning authoring tools like Articulate or Adobe Captivate, and experience designing content for compliance or regulated industries strengthens your application. For specialty occupation H-1B eligibility, your degree field must align directly with the role's core responsibilities.
How do I navigate the timeline from offer to visa approval at Affirm?
For H-1B transfers or cap-exempt filings, USCIS standard processing takes three to five months; premium processing cuts this to roughly 15 business days. For cap-subject H-1B petitions, the process runs on a fixed annual calendar with lottery registration in March and work authorization beginning October 1. Build this timeline into your negotiation with Affirm's recruiting team so your start date aligns with when your authorization will actually be in place.
