INTRODUCTION
Affirm is reinventing credit to make it more honest and friendly, giving consumers the flexibility to buy now and pay later without any hidden fees or compounding interest. Our mission to deliver honest financial products that improve lives extends globally. To support this mission, we are building out the backbone of our fintech systems to ensure they are scalable, compliant, and capable of supporting rapid product innovation. We’re looking for a strong product leader to drive this vision forward!
ROLE AND RESPONSIBILITIES
We’re hiring a Senior Product Manager to own the product roadmap for subledger and reporting infrastructure, the Accounting ↔ Engineering interface, and reconciliation and controls that enable month-end close and auditability. This role owns the end-to-end journey of financial data from engineering systems to the general ledger/ERP and partners closely with Accounting, data, and platform teams.
What you’ll do:
- Own the financial reporting product roadmap: subledgers, standardized accounting-event interface, journal-entry flows, GL/ERP integrations, and reconciliation tooling.
- Work with Engineering to define subledger patterns and the Accounting ↔ Engineering interface: accounting-event schemas, API contracts, domain boundaries, and migration strategies for operational systems to adopt the standard.
- Translate accounting policy and audit requirements into product specs, posting logic, SOX controls, and implementable engineering requirements.
- Lead matching/reconciliation strategy and automation: run vendor evaluations, define recon rules and ownership, and deliver reconciliation automation for high-volume, critical accounts.
- Own data lineage, quality metrics, SLAs, monitoring, and remediation flows for critical reports and journal feeds.
- Run product discovery, prioritization, and cross-functional programs: scope pilots, set success metrics, manage tradeoffs, and deliver production systems with Engineering, Accounting, and Finance.
- Drive governance and change management: coordinate Accounting, Finance, Product and Engineering; own go-to-production signoffs, runbooks, and stakeholder training.
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
What we’re looking for:
- 4+ years product management experience owning financial platforms or data products — responsible for roadmap, APIs, data models, and cross-functional delivery.
- Practical accounting experience required: hands-on accounting experience with direct ownership of month-end close, reconciliations, and external audits. CPA preferred. Practical domain expertise is more important than the credential alone.
- Proven track record of building and working knowledge of financial systems, subledger → GL flows, journal-entry design, reconciliations, SOX controls, and external audit processes.
- Strong technical fluency — data models, ETL/DBT, SQL, and API design — and the ability to partner tightly with engineering and data teams on lineage and transformations.
- Exceptional communicator and cross-functional influencer: translates accounting requirements into technical specs, drives consensus across Finance & Engineering, and presents tradeoffs to senior leaders.
- Willingness to work East Coast hours.
- Bachelor’s or Master’s in Accounting, Finance, Computer Science, or other related fields; or equivalent practical experience.

Frame your SQL skills around financial data
Affirm's Product Analyst interviews lean heavily on data modeling and querying against transaction-level datasets. Come prepared to discuss how you've analyzed credit, payment, or lending data, not just general product metrics.
Time your OPT application before your offer
If you're on F-1 status, confirm your OPT authorization is active or in process before Affirm extends an offer. A gap between graduation and work authorization start date can complicate onboarding timelines at financial services companies with structured intake cycles.
Ask directly about H-1B cap-subject timing
Affirm is a cap-subject employer, so H-1B petitions must clear the USCIS lottery with an April 1 start date at the earliest. If you're interviewing outside the October-to-March filing window, clarify whether the role can be held open or bridged through OPT extension.
Highlight cross-functional experience in product analytics
Affirm structures Product Analyst roles to partner closely with engineering, risk, and growth teams. Candidates who can demonstrate experience owning experiment analysis or building dashboards used by non-analyst stakeholders stand out in the review process.
Verify Affirm's LCA filings before your interview
DOL Labor Condition Applications are public record. Searching Affirm's LCA disclosures for Product Analyst titles shows which locations have active filings and what prevailing wage levels apply, useful context before negotiating compensation or discussing work location flexibility.
Use Migrate Mate to surface open Product Analyst roles
Affirm posts Product Analyst openings across multiple locations, and not all are listed simultaneously. Search Migrate Mate's job board to filter specifically for Affirm roles that are open to visa sponsorship, so you're applying to positions with confirmed sponsorship intent.

Find Product Analyst at Affirm JobsFrequently Asked Questions
Does Affirm sponsor H-1B visas for Product Analysts?
Yes, Affirm sponsors H-1B visas for Product Analyst roles. Because Affirm is a cap-subject employer, H-1B petitions are subject to the annual USCIS lottery, which opens each March for an October 1 start date. If you're already in H-1B status with another employer, a transfer to Affirm is generally more straightforward and isn't lottery-dependent.
How do I apply for Product Analyst jobs at Affirm?
Apply directly through Affirm's careers page, or use Migrate Mate to browse Product Analyst openings at Affirm that are open to visa sponsorship. Tailor your application to emphasize quantitative skills, experience with A/B testing or experiment analysis, and any background working with financial or payment data, all areas Affirm's hiring teams prioritize.
Which visa types does Affirm commonly use for Product Analyst roles?
Affirm sponsors H-1B, F-1 OPT, F-1 CPT, TN, and employment-based Green Card categories including EB-2 and EB-3 for qualifying Product Analysts. F-1 OPT is common for recent graduates entering the role, while H-1B is the primary long-term pathway. TN is available to Canadian and Mexican nationals in eligible specialty occupations.
What qualifications does Affirm expect for Product Analyst roles?
Affirm typically looks for strong SQL proficiency, experience with product experimentation and A/B testing, and the ability to translate data into business recommendations. A bachelor's degree in statistics, economics, computer science, or a related quantitative field is standard. Fintech or financial services experience is a differentiator, particularly if you've worked with credit, risk, or payment data.
How do I plan my timeline if I need Affirm to sponsor my visa?
If you're on F-1 OPT, confirm your remaining authorization window aligns with Affirm's hiring cycle. H-1B cap petitions must be filed in April for an October 1 start, so a role offered in mid-year may require bridging through OPT or a cap-exempt arrangement. Confirm sponsorship intent early in the interview process so both sides can plan around USCIS filing windows.
