Align your portfolio to Apple's hardware-software stack
Apple's data science roles often sit at the intersection of silicon performance, device telemetry, and on-device ML. Showcasing experience with large-scale systems data or embedded analytics will make your application stand out from generalist candidates.
Target teams with the clearest sponsorship precedent
Apple's machine learning, health, and silicon engineering divisions have consistent histories of sponsoring senior-level data science hires. Searching by team or product line helps you prioritize roles where sponsorship is a normal part of the hiring workflow, not an exception.
Use Migrate Mate to find open Senior Data Science Engineer roles at Apple
Filter by role and visa type on Migrate Mate to identify current Senior Data Science Engineer openings at Apple where sponsorship is confirmed. It cuts the time spent screening out positions that won't support your visa situation.
Prepare your credentials for a specialty occupation determination
USCIS requires that H-1B petitions demonstrate a direct relationship between your degree field and the specific role. For Apple's Senior Data Science Engineer positions, a degree in statistics, computer science, or a closely related quantitative field strengthens that determination considerably.
Understand OPT timing relative to Apple's hiring cycles
Apple's senior data science hiring typically runs on a longer timeline than standard OPT windows. If your OPT expires within 12 months, confirm your STEM OPT extension eligibility with your DSO early, since Apple's offer-to-start process can span several months.

Find Senior Data Science Engineer at Apple JobsFrequently Asked Questions
Does Apple sponsor H-1B visas for Senior Data Science Engineers?
Yes, Apple sponsors H-1B visas for Senior Data Science Engineer roles. Apple participates in the annual H-1B lottery and files petitions for both new hires and internal transfers. Because the H-1B has an annual cap and relies on lottery selection, Apple also uses cap-exempt pathways and alternative visa categories depending on your background and citizenship.
Which visa types does Apple commonly use for Senior Data Science Engineer roles?
Apple sponsors several visa categories for Senior Data Science Engineer positions, including H-1B, H-1B1 for Chilean and Singaporean nationals, E-3 for Australian citizens, TN for Canadians and Mexicans, and F-1 OPT and CPT for students. For permanent residency, Apple files EB-2 and EB-3 petitions, including PERM labor certification, for eligible employees in this role.
What qualifications does Apple expect for Senior Data Science Engineer positions?
Apple typically expects a graduate degree in statistics, computer science, machine learning, or a related quantitative field for Senior Data Science Engineer roles, alongside significant hands-on experience building production-grade data systems. Experience with on-device analytics, large-scale experimentation platforms, or hardware-adjacent data pipelines is particularly relevant given Apple's product focus.
How do I apply for Senior Data Science Engineer jobs at Apple?
You can search for Senior Data Science Engineer openings on Apple's careers site or use Migrate Mate to filter specifically for Apple roles that support your visa type. Applications go through Apple's internal recruiting process, which typically includes recruiter screening, technical assessments covering statistics and system design, and multiple interview rounds with cross-functional teams.
How do I plan my timeline if I need sponsorship for an Apple Senior Data Science Engineer role?
Build in at least six to eight months between your job search start and your intended start date. H-1B lottery registration opens in March each year, with an October 1 start date for cap-subject petitions. If you're on STEM OPT, confirm your extension window with your DSO early. Apple's offer process for senior roles often runs longer than junior hiring, so earlier outreach and application timing matters.
