Tailor your portfolio to AV hardware
Applied Intuition builds simulation and autonomy software that depends on vehicle hardware integration. Showcase mechanical work tied to sensor packaging, thermal management, or structural validation in automotive or robotics contexts so your background maps directly to their product needs.
Distinguish your degree field early
H-1B and E-3 eligibility requires your degree to match the specialty occupation. A mechanical engineering degree aligns cleanly, but if your background blends disciplines, confirm that your official transcripts and any credential evaluations reflect the mechanical engineering field before applying.
Target roles aligned with their simulation platform
Applied Intuition posts Mechanical Engineer openings across vehicle dynamics, test infrastructure, and hardware-in-the-loop systems. Filter open roles by team and match your application materials to the specific technical domain rather than applying broadly across all engineering openings.
Ask about sponsorship scope during recruiter screens
Applied Intuition sponsors multiple visa categories, including immigrant pathways. During initial recruiter conversations, ask directly whether the role supports both nonimmigrant and Green Card sponsorship so you know the long-term trajectory before investing time in interviews.
Track your OPT clock against the H-1B cap deadline
If you're on F-1 OPT, USCIS requires H-1B petitions to be filed by April 1 for an October 1 start. Confirm your OPT expiration against that window early so Applied Intuition's HR team has enough lead time to prepare your filing without a gap in work authorization.
Use Migrate Mate to surface active openings
Applied Intuition's Mechanical Engineer roles don't stay open long in a competitive AV hiring market. Search Migrate Mate to filter for open positions at Applied Intuition filtered by visa type, so you're applying to roles where sponsorship is already confirmed rather than guessing from a generic job board.

Find Mechanical Engineer at Applied Intuition JobsFrequently Asked Questions
Does Applied Intuition sponsor H-1B visas for Mechanical Engineers?
Yes, Applied Intuition sponsors H-1B visas for Mechanical Engineer roles. The company has a consistent history of filing H-1B petitions for engineering positions, and Mechanical Engineer qualifies as a specialty occupation under USCIS standards given the degree requirement in mechanical engineering or a closely related field. If you're currently on OPT, Applied Intuition can bridge you through cap-subject H-1B filing for an October 1 start date.
How do I apply for Mechanical Engineer jobs at Applied Intuition?
Apply directly through Applied Intuition's careers page or use Migrate Mate to browse their current Mechanical Engineer openings filtered by visa sponsorship type. Review each job description carefully since roles span distinct teams including vehicle dynamics, hardware-in-the-loop testing, and sensor integration. Tailor your resume and any portfolio work to the specific team's technical scope before submitting, and expect a multi-stage technical interview process that includes system design and hands-on problem solving.
Which visa types does Applied Intuition commonly sponsor for Mechanical Engineers?
Applied Intuition sponsors a range of visa categories for Mechanical Engineers, including H-1B, E-3 for Australian citizens, TN for Canadian and Mexican nationals, H-1B1 for Chilean and Singaporean nationals, and F-1 OPT and CPT for students still in their program. For longer-term immigration, the company also supports EB-2 and EB-3 Green Card pathways, which is relevant if you're looking beyond initial work authorization to permanent residency.
What qualifications does Applied Intuition expect from Mechanical Engineer candidates?
Applied Intuition typically looks for a bachelor's or master's degree in mechanical engineering, with hands-on experience in areas like CAD modeling, structural analysis, thermal systems, or vehicle hardware integration. Roles tied to their autonomy platform often prefer candidates with exposure to sensor systems, test rigs, or automotive development environments. Demonstrated experience working across software and hardware boundaries is a differentiator, given that their product is a simulation and autonomy stack, not a traditional mechanical product.
How do I manage the timeline between receiving an offer and getting my visa filed?
For cap-subject visas like the H-1B, USCIS opens registration in March for an October 1 start, so your offer timing matters. If you receive an offer outside that window, Applied Intuition may bridge you on OPT, a change of status, or consular processing depending on your current status. For cap-exempt pathways like E-3 or TN, filing can happen year-round with faster turnaround, often within a few weeks of the offer being finalized.
