About Applied Intuition
Applied Intuition, Inc. is powering the future of physical AI. Founded in 2017 and now valued at $15 billion, the Silicon Valley company is creating the digital infrastructure needed to bring intelligence to every moving machine on the planet. Applied Intuition services the automotive, defense, trucking, construction, mining and agriculture industries in three core areas: tools and infrastructure, operating systems, and autonomy. Eighteen of the top 20 global automakers, as well as the United States military and its allies, trust the company’s solutions to deliver physical intelligence. Applied Intuition is headquartered in Sunnyvale, California, with offices in Washington, D.C.; San Diego; Ft. Walton Beach, Florida; Ann Arbor, Michigan; London; Stuttgart; Munich; Stockholm; Bangalore; Seoul; and Tokyo.
We are an in-office company, and our expectation is that employees primarily work from their Applied Intuition office 5 days a week. However, we also recognize the importance of flexibility and trust our employees to manage their schedules responsibly. This may include occasional remote work, starting the day with morning meetings from home before heading to the office, or leaving earlier when needed to accommodate family commitments.
About The Role
We are seeking a hands-on Technical Lead to own identity end-to-end, from foundational IDP architecture through to privileged access, secrets management, and access governance for AI agents. This is a senior individual contributor role with broad technical scope and direct influence on identity engineering, security, and compliance outcomes. You will set direction, drive implementation, and operate as the primary identity expert across the organization.
At Applied Intuition, you will:
- Define the long-term IAM strategy, roadmap, and operating model across the enterprise and product ecosystem.
- Assess and mature the current-state Identity Provider (IDP) architecture, identifying gaps and driving the path to a resilient, scalable design.
- Drive all identity systems toward Zero Trust principles - secure, scalable, and frictionless by default.
- Automate the full identity lifecycle beyond traditional IGA joiner-mover-leaver (JML) processes.
- Implement and enforce RBAC for human and non-human identities at scale.
- Define and operationalize least-privilege policies across all systems and environments.
- Centralize secrets management - keys, tokens, certificates - across cloud and enterprise environments.
- Design and deliver Privileged Access Management (PAM) for admin accounts spanning enterprise IT and cloud engineering.
- Implement a scalable access management model for AI agents and bots.
- Collaborate with IT Apps and infrastructure teams to enforce and enable SSO across the enterprise.
- Own the implementation and governance of authentication protocols (SAML, OIDC, OAuth 2.0) and modern identity standards.
- Partner with engineering, security, IT, compliance, and product teams to deliver access management capabilities that enable the business and satisfy audit requirements.
- Translate complex identity requirements into clear, executable technical plans and communicate tradeoffs to senior stakeholders.
We're looking for someone who has:
- 8 - 12+ years in identity engineering, security engineering, or a closely related discipline.
- Hands-on architecture or engineering experience in cloud environments (AWS, GCP, or Azure).
- Demonstrated track record of leading complex, cross-functional IAM programs from design through production.
- Deep expertise in modern IAM technologies: directories (LDAP/AD), IDPs, federation, and authentication protocols (SAML, OIDC, OAuth 2.0).
- Practical experience implementing Zero Trust identity models and PAM frameworks.
- Strong understanding of identity governance, IGA tooling, and role lifecycle management.
- Hands-on experience with secrets management platforms (e.g., HashiCorp Vault, AWS Secrets Manager, GCP Secret Manager).
- Experience with non-human identity and machine identity management in large-scale environments.
- Experience building access controls for AI workloads, agents, or service accounts at scale.
- Familiarity with SCIM provisioning and automated IGA workflows.
- Excellent communication and influencing skills - you can make identity concepts accessible to non-technical audiences and drive alignment without authority.
Nice to have:
- Security certifications such as CISSP, GIAC, or similar.
- Solid grasp of compliance frameworks relevant to identity (SOC 2, ISO 27001, NIST, or similar) and experience supporting audit processes.

Align your credentials to specialty occupation standards
Applied Intuition's Technician roles require field-specific training, not just general mechanical aptitude. Gather documentation showing your degree or certifications map directly to autonomous systems, vehicle testing, or robotics hardware, since USCIS scrutinizes specialty occupation claims for technician-level petitions.
Target Applied Intuition's vehicle testing teams
Applied Intuition actively hires Technicians to support real-world AV fleet operations and sensor validation. Job postings from their vehicle testing and simulation hardware teams signal active sponsorship pipelines, so prioritize those listings over generalist engineering support roles.
Research open Technician roles using Migrate Mate
Migrate Mate filters job listings by visa type so you can surface Applied Intuition Technician roles that explicitly include sponsorship. This saves you from applying to positions where sponsorship wasn't confirmed upfront.
Clarify your OPT or CPT timeline before applying
F-1 students targeting Applied Intuition should map application timelines against OPT expiration. If your OPT ends within six months of a start date, discuss STEM OPT extension eligibility early, since the DOL employer attestation requirements add lead time before you can extend.
Prepare for a technical bench assessment
Applied Intuition's Technician hiring often includes hands-on evaluations of diagnostic and calibration skills, not just resume screening. Document specific equipment you've operated, including lidar, radar, or CAN bus tools, so your experience is concrete and verifiable during the interview process.
Understand the E-3 and TN pathways if eligible
Australian citizens can pursue the E-3 visa, and Canadian or Mexican nationals can use the TN visa for qualifying technician roles. Both bypass the H-1B lottery entirely, so confirm with the hiring team whether your role classification supports these categories before the offer stage.

Find Technician at Applied Intuition JobsFrequently Asked Questions
Does Applied Intuition sponsor H-1B visas for Technicians?
Yes, Applied Intuition sponsors H-1B visas for Technician roles where the position qualifies as a specialty occupation under USCIS standards. Technician positions in autonomous vehicle development can meet this threshold when they require a specialized degree or equivalent field credentials. Confirm specialty occupation eligibility with the hiring team before accepting an offer, since not every technician-level title qualifies automatically.
How do I apply for Technician jobs at Applied Intuition?
You can browse and apply for Technician roles at Applied Intuition directly through their careers page or through Migrate Mate, which filters listings by visa sponsorship type so you can confirm sponsorship availability upfront. Prepare a resume that highlights hands-on experience with vehicle systems, sensors, or hardware validation, since Applied Intuition's Technician roles are operationally focused rather than purely academic.
Which visa types does Applied Intuition commonly use for Technician roles?
Applied Intuition sponsors several visa categories for Technicians, including H-1B, H-1B1 for Chilean and Singaporean nationals, E-3 for Australian citizens, TN for Canadian and Mexican nationals, and F-1 OPT and CPT for students. For longer-term employment, EB-2 and EB-3 Green Card sponsorship is also available, though those pathways involve PERM labor certification through the DOL and significantly longer timelines.
What qualifications or experience does Applied Intuition expect from Technician candidates?
Applied Intuition's Technician roles typically require hands-on experience with vehicle systems, sensor hardware, or automated testing equipment, often in an automotive, robotics, or aerospace context. Familiarity with tools like lidar, radar, CAN bus diagnostics, or data acquisition systems strengthens your application. A relevant technical degree or vocational certification is generally expected, and prior experience supporting field test operations is a meaningful differentiator.
How do I handle visa timing if I receive a Technician offer from Applied Intuition?
Timing depends on your current status and visa category. H-1B petitions have an October 1 start date tied to the annual cap, so offers made in spring may involve a waiting period. F-1 OPT candidates should verify their authorization end date and factor in STEM OPT extension processing time. E-3 and TN visas move faster since they aren't cap-subject and can often be processed in weeks rather than months.
