Tailor your portfolio to infrastructure consulting
Arcadis communications roles often involve stakeholder reports, public engagement campaigns, and technical content for infrastructure projects. Showcasing writing samples or campaigns tied to engineering, environment, or construction audiences will make your application more relevant than general communications work.
Clarify your visa category before applying
Arcadis sponsors several visa types, including H-1B, TN, and F-1 OPT. Knowing which category fits your situation before your first interview lets you address sponsorship directly and confidently, rather than leaving the employer to figure out your status mid-process.
Target roles where LCA prevailing wages align with your market
DOL-certified Labor Condition Applications lock in a prevailing wage by location and role level. Research whether the Arcadis office you're targeting is in a market where communications salaries meet that threshold for your experience level before you invest time in the process.
Use Migrate Mate to find open Communications roles at Arcadis
Arcadis posts communications positions across multiple offices and business lines. Use Migrate Mate to filter specifically for Arcadis roles that are open to sponsored candidates, so you're not sorting through postings that won't lead anywhere for international applicants.
Request an OPT or cap-gap timeline from your international office early
If you're on F-1 OPT, confirm your work authorization end date before accepting an offer from Arcadis. Cap-gap protection extends your OPT if USCIS receives an H-1B petition before your OPT expires, but timing the offer and filing correctly requires coordination with your university's DSO.
Prepare references who can speak to cross-functional communications work
Consulting firms like Arcadis evaluate communications candidates on their ability to translate complex technical content for non-expert audiences. References from colleagues in engineering, project management, or client-facing roles carry more weight than those from purely internal communications backgrounds.

Find Communications at Arcadis JobsFrequently Asked Questions
Does Arcadis sponsor H-1B visas for Communications roles?
Yes, Arcadis sponsors H-1B visas for qualifying positions, including Communications roles that meet the specialty occupation standard. The H-1B requires a bachelor's degree or higher in a directly related field. Because H-1B selection is subject to an annual lottery run by USCIS, timing your application cycle with Arcadis is critical to securing sponsorship.
How do I apply for Communications jobs at Arcadis?
Applications go through Arcadis's careers portal, where you can filter by function and location. You can also browse open Communications roles at Arcadis that are accessible to sponsored candidates through Migrate Mate, which surfaces positions relevant to international applicants. In your application, be upfront about your visa status so hiring managers can route your profile appropriately from the start.
Which visa types does Arcadis commonly use for Communications professionals?
Arcadis has sponsored Communications professionals on H-1B, H-1B1, TN, F-1 OPT, F-1 CPT, J-1, and EB-2/EB-3 immigrant visas. TN is available to Canadian and Mexican nationals in eligible professional categories. For longer-term employees, Arcadis has supported permanent residence through PERM-based employment sponsorship under EB-2 and EB-3 classifications.
What qualifications does Arcadis look for in Communications candidates?
Arcadis typically looks for candidates with a degree in communications, journalism, public relations, or a related field, combined with experience producing content for technical or infrastructure-focused audiences. Roles often require strong writing, stakeholder engagement, and the ability to simplify complex project information. Experience in consulting, engineering, or environmental services is a meaningful differentiator in the hiring process.
How do I think about the timeline for visa sponsorship at Arcadis?
Timeline depends heavily on your current status. F-1 OPT allows you to start working while an H-1B petition is pending, but USCIS must receive the petition before your OPT expires to trigger cap-gap protection. H-1B petitions for the annual lottery are filed in April with employment starting no earlier than October 1. Aligning your offer acceptance and onboarding with these USCIS deadlines is essential.
