INTRODUCTION
Arcadis is the world's leading company delivering sustainable design, engineering, and consultancy solutions for natural and built assets.
We are more than 34,000 people, in over 30 countries, dedicated to improving quality of life. Everyone has an important role to play. With the power of many curious minds, together we can solve the world’s most complex challenges and deliver more impact together.
ROLE DESCRIPTION
Arcadis is seeking a highly skilled and motivated Construction Manager P2B to support one of the most iconic and consequential infrastructure initiatives in the United States — the Gateway Hudson Tunnel Project (HTP). In this role, you will be responsible for reviewing the construction work plans and regular reporting on compliance and environmental permitting requirements.
We are working as the Delivery Partner along with team members and selected by the Gateway Development Commission to deliver this transformative project. The HTP is a critical component of the broader Gateway Program — one of the most ambitious and impactful transportation initiatives in the nation — and is designed to strengthen mobility, enhance resiliency, and ensure the long-term reliability of the Northeast Corridor.
The project encompasses the construction of a new, two-track rail tunnel beneath the Hudson River, along with the full rehabilitation of the existing 113-year-old North River Tunnel. This vital infrastructure supports more than 200,000 daily passengers via Amtrak and NJ TRANSIT and serves as a backbone for economic activity and connectivity between New York and New Jersey.
This is more than just a job — it’s a once-in-a-generation opportunity to contribute to a nationally significant infrastructure program that will reshape rail transportation, drive sustainable economic growth, and improve regional accessibility for millions. As part of this high-performing, multidisciplinary team, you will help deliver excellence on one of the most technically complex and high-profile projects in the world.
If you're seeking to make a meaningful, lasting impact — while advancing your career alongside some of the best minds in the industry — this is your moment.

Align your credentials to U.S. project standards
Arcadis works across infrastructure, water, and built environment projects governed by U.S. engineering and construction standards. Credentialing bodies like AACE or PE licensure signal relevance and reduce friction when your employer files a specialty occupation petition with USCIS.
Target roles tied to federal infrastructure contracts
Arcadis regularly wins large federal and municipal infrastructure contracts that drive sustained Construction hiring. Roles tied to active contract vehicles are more likely to have immediate headcount approval, which shortens the timeline from offer to sponsorship initiation.
Clarify sponsorship scope before accepting an offer
Arcadis sponsors multiple visa categories, including H-1B, TN, and Green Card pathways. Confirm in writing which category applies to your offer, whether they cover premium processing, and how the PERM labor certification timeline fits your current authorization before signing.
Use your OPT period to demonstrate billable impact
If you enter on F-1 OPT, Arcadis can observe your performance on client-facing Construction projects before committing to H-1B sponsorship. Billable utilization and project outcomes during OPT directly influence internal decisions about who gets sponsored in the next cap cycle.
Map Arcadis Construction openings through Migrate Mate
Construction roles that include visa sponsorship aren't always labeled clearly on general job boards. Use Migrate Mate to filter Arcadis openings by visa type so you're applying only to positions where sponsorship is confirmed, not assumed.
Prepare for DOL prevailing wage scrutiny in construction
Construction roles often draw DOL scrutiny during the Labor Condition Application stage because prevailing wages vary sharply by location and project type. Request the offered wage tier from your recruiter early so you can assess alignment before the LCA is filed.
Frequently Asked Questions
Does Arcadis sponsor H-1B visas for Construction roles?
Yes, Arcadis sponsors H-1B visas for Construction positions. The company has a consistent track record of sponsoring international professionals in this function across infrastructure, water, and built environment projects. Construction roles at Arcadis typically qualify as specialty occupations, which is the core H-1B eligibility requirement. Your offer letter should specify whether sponsorship is included and whether Arcadis covers premium processing through USCIS.
How do I apply for Construction jobs at Arcadis?
You can apply through Arcadis's careers portal or use Migrate Mate to browse their Construction openings filtered by visa sponsorship type. When applying, tailor your resume to the specific project type listed in the job description, whether that's infrastructure, environmental, or program management. Arcadis recruits for both early-career and senior Construction roles, so targeting the right seniority level in your application materials matters.
Which visa types does Arcadis commonly sponsor for Construction professionals?
Arcadis sponsors a broad range of visa categories for Construction roles, including H-1B, H-1B1 visa for Chilean and Singaporean nationals, TN visa for Canadian and Mexican professionals, F-1 OPT and CPT for students, J-1 visa for exchange visitors, and EB-2 and EB-3 immigrant visas for permanent residency pathways. The visa type offered typically depends on your nationality, your current status, and the seniority of the role.
What qualifications does Arcadis look for in Construction candidates who need visa sponsorship?
Arcadis generally expects a bachelor's degree or higher in civil engineering, construction management, architecture, or a closely related field for roles it will sponsor. For H-1B purposes, the degree must align directly with the role's responsibilities. Professional credentials like a PE license or PMP certification strengthen your application, particularly for senior project delivery or program management positions. International candidates with experience on large-scale public infrastructure projects are well positioned.
How do I navigate the timing between an Arcadis offer and my visa filing?
If you're targeting an H-1B, Arcadis must register you in the USCIS lottery between March 1 and March 18 each year, with employment starting no earlier than October 1 if selected. If you're already on OPT, cap-gap protections may bridge the gap. For TN or H-1B1 visa categories, there's no lottery, which significantly shortens the timeline from offer acceptance to authorized start date.
