Align your credentials to U.S. licensing standards
Arcadis frequently requires or prefers candidates who are working toward a Professional Engineer license. If your engineering degree is from outside the U.S., get a credential evaluation from NACES before applying so your qualifications map clearly to a four-year U.S. bachelor's equivalent.
Target infrastructure and energy project pipelines
Arcadis staffs Electrical Engineers on long-cycle infrastructure and energy transition projects, which means sponsorship decisions are tied to project wins. Focus your applications on office locations with active DOT, utility, or federal agency contracts, where staffing needs are more predictable.
Clarify your OPT STEM extension eligibility early
Electrical Engineering is a STEM-designated field, so F-1 students can apply for a 24-month OPT extension after the standard 12 months. Confirm your program's CIP code qualifies before your first OPT year ends, since the extension application must be filed with USCIS before that period lapses.
Ask about H-1B cap-exempt project placements
If Arcadis places you on a project with a qualifying university or nonprofit research institution, that engagement may support a cap-exempt H-1B filing outside the annual lottery. Ask your recruiter whether any current Electrical Engineering assignments involve cap-exempt partner sites.
Use Migrate Mate to surface active Arcadis openings
Arcadis posts Electrical Engineer roles across multiple platforms, and not all listings specify sponsorship availability upfront. Use Migrate Mate to filter specifically for Arcadis roles that support your visa type so you're applying to positions where sponsorship is already confirmed.
Understand the PERM timeline before negotiating your start date
If you're targeting Green Card sponsorship through EB-2 or EB-3, the PERM labor certification process through DOL typically takes 12 to 18 months before an I-140 petition can be filed. Factor that into your employment timeline conversation with Arcadis before accepting an offer.

Find Electrical Engineer at Arcadis JobsFrequently Asked Questions
Does Arcadis sponsor H-1B visas for Electrical Engineers?
Yes, Arcadis sponsors H-1B visas for Electrical Engineers. The company participates in the annual H-1B cap lottery for candidates who need initial H-1B status, and also supports H-1B transfers for candidates already holding valid H-1B status with another employer. Electrical Engineering qualifies as a specialty occupation under USCIS standards, which means degree requirements and job duties align well with H-1B eligibility criteria.
How do I apply for Electrical Engineer jobs at Arcadis?
Applications go through the Arcadis careers portal, where roles are listed by region and project type. You can also find Arcadis Electrical Engineer openings filtered by visa sponsorship availability on Migrate Mate, which makes it easier to identify positions where your work authorization situation is already a fit before you apply.
Which visa types does Arcadis commonly use for Electrical Engineer roles?
Arcadis sponsors a range of visa types for Electrical Engineers, including H-1B, TN for Canadian and Mexican nationals, F-1 OPT and CPT for students in active programs, J-1 for exchange visitors, and employment-based Green Card categories EB-2 and EB-3 for longer-term sponsorship. The right pathway depends on your citizenship, degree, and where you are in the immigration process.
What qualifications does Arcadis expect for Electrical Engineer roles?
Most Electrical Engineer positions at Arcadis require a bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or a closely related discipline. Project-facing roles often expect experience in power systems, building electrical systems, or infrastructure design. Senior positions may require a Professional Engineer license or demonstrated progress toward licensure. Arcadis works across regulated infrastructure sectors, so familiarity with applicable codes and standards strengthens your application significantly.
How long does the sponsorship process take for an Electrical Engineer at Arcadis?
Timeline depends on your visa category. An H-1B transfer for someone already in valid status can be processed within a few weeks with premium processing through USCIS. A new H-1B cap filing means waiting for the April lottery and an October 1 start date at the earliest. PERM-based Green Card sponsorship through EB-2 or EB-3 is a multi-year process, often starting 18 or more months before priority date movement allows adjustment of status.
