Align your credentials to LCA job categories
FTI files Labor Condition Applications with the DOL before sponsoring any visa. Check the DOL's FLAG system for LCA filings under electrical engineering job titles to confirm which roles and wage levels FTI has recently certified.
Target project-based practice areas strategically
FTI's Electrical Engineer hires tend to support litigation support, infrastructure disputes, and forensic engineering work. Framing your background around project documentation, failure analysis, or expert witness support sets you apart from candidates pitching pure design experience.
Prepare a U.S.-equivalent credentials summary early
If your engineering degree is from outside the U.S., get a formal credential evaluation completed before applying. FTI's HR team and immigration counsel will reference this during the specialty occupation assessment required for H-1B or E-3 sponsorship.
Use Migrate Mate to identify open Electrical Engineer roles
FTI posts across multiple channels and roles fill quickly. Search Migrate Mate to filter open Electrical Engineer positions at FTI by visa type, so you're only applying to roles where your authorization category is already supported.
Account for PERM timing if you're planning long-term
FTI sponsors EB-2 and EB-3 Green Cards for engineering staff, but PERM labor certification with the DOL typically takes 12 to 18 months before an I-140 petition can even be filed. Raise permanent residency intentions early in negotiations, not after onboarding.

Find Electrical Engineer at FTI JobsFrequently Asked Questions
Does FTI sponsor H-1B visas for Electrical Engineers?
Yes, FTI sponsors H-1B visas for Electrical Engineers. The company has an active sponsorship track record across multiple visa categories for engineering roles. Because H-1B sponsorship requires the employer to file a certified Labor Condition Application with the DOL and then petition USCIS, you should confirm the specific role qualifies as a specialty occupation during the offer stage.
How do I apply for Electrical Engineer jobs at FTI?
You can search and apply for Electrical Engineer roles at FTI directly through Migrate Mate, which filters open positions by visa sponsorship type so you can confirm your category is supported before applying. FTI's hiring process for engineering roles typically involves a technical screen, case-based interviews, and a review of your credentials before an offer is extended.
Which visa types does FTI commonly use for Electrical Engineers?
FTI sponsors a broad range of visa categories for Electrical Engineers, including H-1B, H-1B1, E-3, TN, F-1 OPT, F-1 CPT, and J-1 for nonimmigrant work authorization. For permanent residency, FTI has also supported EB-2 and EB-3 Green Card pathways. The right category depends on your nationality, degree, and current immigration status.
What qualifications does FTI expect for Electrical Engineer roles?
FTI's Electrical Engineer roles typically require a bachelor's degree or higher in electrical engineering or a closely related field. Because much of FTI's engineering work supports litigation, regulatory disputes, and forensic investigations, candidates with experience in failure analysis, power systems, or infrastructure documentation are particularly competitive. Professional licensure is an advantage for senior-level positions.
How do I plan my timeline for visa sponsorship at FTI?
Timeline depends heavily on visa category. E-3 and TN processing can move within weeks if all documents are in order. H-1B sponsorship is subject to the annual lottery and an October 1 start date, meaning you'd need to be selected in the spring cap season before you can begin. F-1 OPT and CPT can bridge the gap while you wait. Raise your timeline constraints with FTI's HR team early so they can plan accordingly.
