Target consulting and advisory roles directly
FTI's sponsorship activity is concentrated in consulting, economic analysis, and technology advisory roles. Focus your search on positions that require specialized expertise, as these are most likely to meet the specialty occupation standard required for H-1B and E-3 sponsorship.
Understand that FTI sponsors multiple visa types
FTI supports H-1B, E-3, TN, F-1 OPT, and Green Card pathways, which matters when planning your immigration timeline. If you're on OPT, ask early about whether the team has experience transitioning candidates to H-1B, many FTI hiring managers do.
Highlight specialized skills in your application
Consulting firms sponsor visas when they can't fill a role domestically with the required expertise. Make the case clearly that your background in a specific discipline, data analytics, financial modeling, economic consulting, is the differentiator FTI needs.
Ask about sponsorship during the offer stage, not after
FTI has an active sponsorship track record, but processes vary by practice group. Raise the visa question when you receive an offer, not after you've accepted, it gives both sides time to align on which visa category applies and what the timeline looks like.
Use a verified job board to find FTI openings
Not every FTI posting makes sponsorship eligibility clear. Migrate Mate surfaces verified sponsors so you can filter by real sponsorship history, saving you from applying to roles where immigration support is uncertain.
Australian nationals should specifically ask about the E-3
FTI has sponsored E-3 visas, making it a viable option for Australian professionals in consulting. The E-3 has no lottery and processes faster than the H-1B, so if you're Australian, confirm upfront that FTI's HR team is familiar with this pathway.
Frequently Asked Questions
Does FTI sponsor H-1B visas?
Yes, FTI sponsors H-1B visas and has a consistent track record of doing so for consulting and advisory professionals. Roles in economic consulting, technology, and financial analysis are the most common fits. If you're applying for a specialty role that requires a specific degree background, FTI is a legitimate H-1B sponsor worth targeting.
Which visa types does FTI sponsor?
FTI sponsors a range of visa categories including H-1B, H-1B1 visa, E-3 visa, TN visa, F-1 OPT, F-1 CPT, J-1 visa, and employment-based Green Cards through EB-2 and EB-3. This breadth makes FTI a strong option for international professionals across different nationalities and career stages, from recent graduates on OPT to experienced consultants seeking permanent residency.
Which roles at FTI are most likely to receive visa sponsorship?
Sponsorship at FTI tends to be concentrated in highly specialized consulting roles, economic analysis, financial advisory, data science, and technology consulting are strong fits. Roles that require a specific degree in a defined field are the clearest candidates for H-1B or E-3 sponsorship. Generalist or support-function roles are less likely to qualify under the specialty occupation standard.
How do I find visa-sponsored jobs at FTI on Migrate Mate?
Migrate Mate lets you filter job listings by verified sponsorship history, so you can see FTI openings where the company has a confirmed track record of supporting international candidates. Search for FTI on Migrate Mate, filter by your visa type, and browse roles tagged with the categories relevant to your situation, it removes the guesswork of cold-applying to roles where sponsorship is unclear.
How do I approach the sponsorship conversation when applying to FTI?
Raise visa sponsorship after you've cleared the initial interview round but before you reach the final offer stage. FTI's hiring teams are familiar with international candidates, so it's not an unusual ask. Come prepared with the specific visa you need, your current status, and any timing constraints, for example, an OPT expiration date. The clearer you are, the smoother the HR coordination tends to be.
