Align Your PE License Timeline With Jedson
Consulting firms like Jedson bill engineers to clients, so a Professional Engineer license directly affects your value. If you're on OPT, map your license exam timeline so you can sit for the PE before your work authorization gap.
Target Jedson's Industrial and Power Projects
Jedson's Electrical Engineer openings skew toward industrial facilities, power distribution, and instrumentation work. Frame your resume around IEC or NEC code experience and plant-level projects rather than product design or software-heavy roles.
Verify Your OPT STEM Extension Eligibility Early
Electrical Engineering is a STEM-designated field, making you eligible for a 24-month OPT extension. Confirm your DSO submits the STEM OPT recommendation before your initial OPT expires, and ensure Jedson is registered with E-Verify, which is required for STEM extension employers.
Initiate PERM Conversations at the Offer Stage
Jedson sponsors EB-2 and EB-3 Green Cards, but PERM labor certification can take 18 months or more before USCIS even sees your petition. Ask during offer negotiation which Green Card category they typically pursue for Electrical Engineers and how soon they start the process.
Use Migrate Mate to Filter Jedson's Open Roles
Jedson posts Electrical Engineer roles across multiple locations and project types. Use Migrate Mate to filter open positions by visa sponsorship type so you can identify which roles are actively hiring sponsored candidates before you apply.
Prepare a Portfolio Around Deliverables Jedson Bills For
Consulting firms are evaluated by clients on drawings, specs, and studies. Bring work samples showing single-line diagrams, load calculations, or arc flash studies. Interviewers at Jedson will assess whether your deliverables are client-ready, not just technically correct.

Find Electrical Engineer at Jedson Engineering JobsFrequently Asked Questions
Does Jedson Engineering sponsor H-1B visas for Electrical Engineers?
Jedson Engineering's documented sponsorship activity for Electrical Engineers focuses on permanent residency pathways like EB-2 and EB-3, as well as OPT and CPT support for students and recent graduates. H-1B sponsorship is less prominently documented for this role at Jedson, so it's worth raising sponsorship needs directly with the recruiter during the interview process to confirm what the company supports for your specific situation.
Which visa types does Jedson Engineering commonly use for Electrical Engineers?
Jedson Engineering sponsors F-1 OPT and F-1 CPT for students and recent graduates, which covers early-career Electrical Engineers still in their authorization window. For longer-term work authorization, Jedson sponsors EB-2 and EB-3 Green Card pathways, which require PERM labor certification filed through the DOL before USCIS adjudicates the immigrant petition. TN status is also available for Canadian and Mexican engineers in qualifying roles.
How do I apply for Electrical Engineer jobs at Jedson Engineering?
You can browse and apply for Electrical Engineer openings at Jedson Engineering through Migrate Mate, which filters roles by visa sponsorship type so you can confirm a position is open to sponsored candidates before investing time in the application. Jedson typically posts openings by project location and discipline, so filtering by your target region and relevant specialty, such as power systems or instrumentation, will narrow the list quickly.
What qualifications does Jedson Engineering expect for Electrical Engineer roles?
Jedson's Electrical Engineer roles are rooted in consulting work for industrial and commercial clients, so they look for hands-on experience with power distribution, NEC or IEC code compliance, and engineering deliverables like load studies and single-line diagrams. A bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering is the baseline requirement, and candidates with a Professional Engineer license or who are actively pursuing licensure are at a clear advantage since PE credentials are billable to clients.
How long does it take to get work authorization sponsored by Jedson Engineering?
Timeline depends heavily on the visa type. F-1 OPT is already in your control and can begin within 90 days of your program end date. If Jedson sponsors an EB-3 Green Card, the PERM labor certification process alone takes 12 to 18 months on average before USCIS receives the I-140 petition, and final Green Card processing adds additional time. Starting the conversation at the offer stage gives you the clearest picture of which path applies to you.
