Align Your PE Licensure Before Applying
Jedson Engineering staffs client-facing consulting projects where Professional Engineer licensure is often a differentiator. If your PE is pending, document your exam eligibility and expected timeline clearly in your application materials so hiring managers can assess your readiness.
Target Roles Matching Your Visa Category
Jedson sponsors both F-1 OPT and TN visas, which have very different eligibility rules. TN requires Canadian or Mexican citizenship and a qualifying engineering degree. Confirming your category before applying saves time and positions you correctly during recruiter screening calls.
Understand How PERM Timelines Affect Offer Negotiations
EB-2 and EB-3 sponsorship at consulting firms like Jedson typically involves a PERM labor certification filed with DOL, a process that can take a year or more. Raise this early in offer discussions so both sides can plan around the timeline realistically.
Frame Your Project Portfolio Around Infrastructure Sectors
Jedson's Structural Engineer work spans industrial, municipal, and energy infrastructure. When you present your project history, prioritize examples from those sectors and quantify your role in the structural design or analysis work to stand out in a consulting context.
Use Migrate Mate to Filter Open Roles by Visa Type
Jedson posts Structural Engineer openings across multiple locations. Use Migrate Mate to browse and filter those roles by the visa types Jedson sponsors, so you're applying only to positions where your immigration situation is already a fit.

Does Jedson Engineering sponsor H-1B visas for Structural Engineers?
Jedson Engineering's documented sponsorship activity for Structural Engineers centers on employment-based Green Card pathways (EB-2 and EB-3) and F-1 OPT arrangements rather than H-1B cap-subject petitions. If H-1B sponsorship is your primary need, ask the recruiter directly during initial screening, since sponsorship decisions for individual roles can vary by project and office location.
Which visa types are commonly used for Structural Engineer roles at Jedson Engineering?
Jedson Engineering has sponsored Structural Engineers through EB-2 and EB-3 employment-based Green Card processes, F-1 OPT (including STEM extension), F-1 CPT for qualifying students, and TN visas for Canadian and Mexican nationals with engineering degrees. TN is often the fastest path for eligible candidates since it doesn't involve a lottery or lengthy PERM process.
What qualifications or experience does Jedson Engineering expect for Structural Engineer roles?
Jedson typically looks for candidates with a degree in civil or structural engineering, relevant project experience in industrial or infrastructure sectors, and progress toward PE licensure. For international candidates, a three-year or four-year engineering degree is generally accepted, but you should be prepared to explain how your credential maps to U.S. licensing requirements if asked during interviews.
How do I apply for Structural Engineer jobs at Jedson Engineering?
You can browse current Structural Engineer openings at Jedson Engineering on Migrate Mate, which filters roles by visa sponsorship type so you can confirm your immigration situation is a match before applying. When you apply, tailor your resume to highlight structural design experience relevant to Jedson's consulting sectors and note your visa status or work authorization timeline clearly in your cover materials.
How do I plan my timeline if Jedson Engineering is sponsoring my Green Card?
EB-2 and EB-3 Green Card sponsorship through a consulting firm like Jedson involves three main stages: a DOL PERM labor certification, an I-140 immigrant petition filed with USCIS, and either adjustment of status or consular processing. The PERM stage alone can take 12 to 18 months. Discuss sponsorship timing at the offer stage so your employment start date and visa status remain aligned throughout the process.
