Align your credentials to NEPA and remediation work
Arcadis wins contracts requiring specific regulatory expertise. Certifications like CHMM or PG, and demonstrated experience with CERCLA or state-level cleanup programs, signal readiness for the billable project work they staff immediately after hiring.
Target Arcadis offices near major project hubs
Environmental hiring at Arcadis concentrates around offices supporting federal and municipal clients. Applying to locations like Denver, Dallas, or Atlanta where infrastructure and remediation pipelines are active increases your chances of landing a role that justifies sponsorship.
Clarify your visa category before the offer stage
Arcadis sponsors multiple visa types for Environmental roles. Knowing whether your situation fits H-1B, TN, or F-1 OPT before an offer is extended lets you steer the conversation productively and avoid delays once HR gets involved in the immigration review.
Use Migrate Mate to filter open Environmental roles
Arcadis posts Environmental positions across multiple locations simultaneously, and not all are flagged clearly for sponsorship eligibility. Migrate Mate filters Arcadis listings specifically for visa-sponsored Environmental roles so you can focus applications where immigration support is confirmed.
Understand the LCA requirement for specialty occupation roles
Before Arcadis can file an H-1B petition, DOL must certify a Labor Condition Application confirming the offered wage meets prevailing levels for your role and location. Factor four to six weeks for LCA certification into your expected start date when negotiating with the hiring team.
Prepare a project portfolio demonstrating direct deliverables
Environmental consulting interviews at Arcadis focus on scoped deliverables, not general field experience. Bring examples of technical reports, regulatory submissions, or remedial design work you authored. This also strengthens the specialty occupation case USCIS evaluates during H-1B adjudication.
Frequently Asked Questions
Does Arcadis sponsor H-1B visas for Environmentals?
Yes, Arcadis sponsors H-1B visas for Environmental roles that qualify as specialty occupations under USCIS standards, typically requiring at least a bachelor's degree in environmental science, engineering, geology, or a directly related field. Sponsorship is evaluated on a role-by-role basis, and eligibility is usually discussed after a conditional offer is made.
How do I apply for Environmental jobs at Arcadis?
Applications go through the Arcadis careers portal, where Environmental roles are listed by service line and location. To find positions confirmed for visa sponsorship, browse Arcadis Environmental listings on Migrate Mate, which filters specifically for roles where immigration support has been offered. Tailor your resume to the specific project type listed in the job description before applying.
Which visa types does Arcadis commonly use for Environmental roles?
Arcadis sponsors H-1B and H-1B1 visas for most full-time Environmental hires requiring employer petition support. F-1 OPT and CPT are available for students and recent graduates in qualifying degree programs. TN visa status is an option for Canadian and Mexican nationals in eligible Environmental occupations. Green Card sponsorship through EB-2 or EB-3 PERM is available for longer-tenured employees.
What qualifications does Arcadis expect for Environmental roles?
Most Environmental positions require a degree in environmental science, civil or environmental engineering, geology, or hydrogeology. For H-1B sponsorship, the role must qualify as a specialty occupation, so your degree field needs a direct and logical connection to the job duties. Arcadis also values experience with regulatory frameworks like RCRA, CERCLA, or Clean Water Act compliance, and professional licensure strengthens applications for senior roles.
How do I plan my timeline if I need H-1B sponsorship at Arcadis?
The H-1B cap lottery runs once a year with registrations in March and an October 1 start date if selected. If you're on F-1 OPT, Arcadis can employ you while your H-1B is pending, and a timely STEM OPT extension can give you up to 24 additional months of work authorization as a buffer. Starting conversations with recruiters by December or January gives enough lead time for the March registration window.
