- Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and senior scientists to support multidisciplinary remediation and compliance projects from investigation through closure.
- Prepare technical reports, correspondence, and regulatory submittals for internal review and client or agency submission.
- Participate in quality assurance/quality control (QA/QC) reviews of environmental data and reports to ensure accuracy, completeness, and regulatory defensibility.

Frame your credentials around specialty occupation standards
USCIS scrutinizes H-1B petitions closely when the role title is broad. Make sure your resume explicitly ties your environmental degree to the specific technical functions GFT advertises, such as environmental data systems or compliance engineering, not general sustainability work.
Target GFT's technology-facing environmental openings
GFT operates primarily in financial technology and digital transformation, so environmental roles here tend to support tech infrastructure or regulatory compliance rather than field operations. Prioritize applications where the job description references software, data, or digital systems.
Verify your DOL prevailing wage tier before applying
The Department of Labor assigns wage levels that directly affect your H-1B petition. Research the prevailing wage for your specific environmental job title and location using the DOL's Foreign Labor Certification Data Center before negotiating an offer.
Align your application timeline with the H-1B cap cycle
Cap-subject H-1B petitions can only be filed for an October 1 start date, with the registration window opening in March. If you receive an offer outside that window, discuss with GFT whether a cap-exempt filing or deferred start is feasible.
Use Migrate Mate to identify GFT's active Environmental listings
GFT's open environmental roles aren't always surfaced through standard job boards. Search Migrate Mate to filter specifically for GFT positions that include visa sponsorship, so you're applying only where sponsorship is confirmed rather than assumed.
Prepare for USCIS requests for evidence on specialty occupation
Environmental positions at technology companies frequently receive USCIS Requests for Evidence questioning whether the role genuinely requires a specialized degree. Ask GFT's HR team how they document specialty occupation status so your petition is positioned correctly from the start.

Find Environmental at GFT JobsFrequently Asked Questions
Does GFT sponsor H-1B visas for Environmentals?
Yes, GFT sponsors H-1B visas and has done so for specialized roles including Environmental positions. Because GFT operates in the technology and software sector, sponsored environmental roles typically involve technical functions like compliance systems, environmental data analysis, or regulatory reporting rather than traditional fieldwork. Confirming sponsorship availability directly with the recruiter during your first conversation is the most reliable approach.
How do I apply for Environmental jobs at GFT?
You can browse GFT's open Environmental positions through Migrate Mate, which filters specifically for roles that include visa sponsorship so you're not wasting time on listings that won't support your H-1B. Once you identify a relevant opening, apply through GFT's careers portal and note in your application or cover letter that you require H-1B sponsorship, as this helps route your application to the right hiring team.
Which visa types does GFT use for Environmental roles?
GFT primarily uses the H-1B visa for sponsoring international workers in specialized positions, including Environmental roles. The H-1B is the most practical option for this function because environmental positions at technology firms are structured as specialty occupations requiring at least a bachelor's degree in a directly related field. Other work visa categories are generally not applicable unless you qualify under a specific treaty or extraordinary ability classification.
What qualifications does GFT expect for Environmental positions?
GFT's Environmental roles in a technology context typically require a bachelor's degree or higher in environmental science, environmental engineering, or a closely related technical field. Given GFT's software and financial technology focus, candidates who also bring proficiency in data analysis tools, compliance frameworks, or environmental management systems have a stronger profile. Practical experience with regulatory reporting or digital environmental monitoring platforms is frequently cited in job descriptions.
How do I understand the H-1B filing timeline for a GFT Environmental role?
If you're subject to the H-1B cap, USCIS opens electronic registration in March each year for an October 1 start date. If selected in the lottery, GFT would then file a full petition between April and June. The entire process from offer to authorized start can take six months or longer. Candidates already in H-1B status at another employer can transfer to GFT more quickly using H-1B portability provisions under USCIS rules.
