Align your credentials to GFT's technical scope
GFT operates in technology and software infrastructure, so frame your Construction Engineer credentials around data center builds, structured cabling, or tech campus fit-outs. Employers in this space prioritize candidates whose project portfolios reflect IT-adjacent construction environments.
Verify your degree meets specialty occupation standards
USCIS requires Construction Engineer H-1B petitions to demonstrate a specialty occupation with a directly related bachelor's degree or higher. A civil or structural engineering degree typically satisfies this, but a general construction management degree may face closer scrutiny during adjudication.
Target GFT's active project pipeline when applying
GFT posts Construction Engineer openings tied to specific infrastructure deployments. Applying when a role aligns with an active project increases the chance your petition moves quickly, since employers file H-1B petitions once a concrete start date and worksite are confirmed with DOL.
Confirm your worksite details before the LCA is filed
DOL's Labor Condition Application requires a specific worksite address. GFT's construction roles often involve project-based locations, so clarify early whether your assignment is a fixed office, a client site, or multiple locations. Short-term placements have different LCA requirements than permanent worksites.
Use Migrate Mate to find open Construction Engineer roles at GFT
Searching broadly wastes time if GFT only hires for this role in specific regions or project phases. Migrate Mate filters verified sponsoring employers by role and visa type, so you can target GFT openings that are actively seeking sponsored candidates.
Negotiate your start date around the H-1B cap timeline
Cap-subject H-1B petitions have an October 1 start date after the April lottery. If GFT extends an offer in late spring or summer, build that gap into your timeline and confirm whether you qualify for any cap-exempt pathway based on prior approvals or employer type.

Find Construction Engineer at GFT JobsFrequently Asked Questions
Does GFT sponsor H-1B visas for Construction Engineers?
Yes, GFT sponsors H-1B visas for Construction Engineer roles. As a technology and software company with infrastructure build requirements, GFT has filed H-1B petitions for this function. Sponsorship is typically tied to specific project needs, so availability can vary by hiring cycle and active deployments rather than being an open standing offer.
How do I apply for Construction Engineer jobs at GFT?
Apply through GFT's careers page or use Migrate Mate to find current openings filtered specifically for sponsored Construction Engineer roles. When you apply, tailor your resume to highlight infrastructure or technology-sector construction experience. If a recruiter reaches out, confirm visa sponsorship availability early in the conversation before investing time in later interview stages.
What visa types are commonly used for Construction Engineer roles at GFT?
The H-1B is the primary work visa GFT uses for Construction Engineer positions. This visa requires the role to qualify as a specialty occupation, which generally holds for degreed engineering roles. Depending on your background, an O-1A for extraordinary ability or an EB-2 Green Card petition could also become relevant after initial H-1B sponsorship.
What qualifications does GFT expect for Construction Engineer roles?
GFT's Construction Engineer openings in the technology sector typically require a bachelor's degree in civil, structural, or electrical engineering and experience on commercial or technology infrastructure projects. Familiarity with data center construction, building management systems, or large-scale fit-outs is a practical differentiator. USCIS also requires the degree field to directly relate to the job duties for H-1B eligibility.
How do I estimate the timeline from offer to H-1B approval at GFT?
From offer acceptance to an approved H-1B, plan for at least six to eight months if you're entering the cap lottery. GFT would register you in March for an April selection, file the full petition by June, and receive a decision before the October 1 start date. Premium processing, available through USCIS for an additional fee, can reduce adjudication to roughly 15 business days once the petition is filed.
