Frame your technical depth upfront
GFT hires Engineering Managers who can credibly engage with software architecture decisions, not just run standups. Tailor your resume to show hands-on engineering experience before your transition into management, since that dual profile is what their interviewers screen for.
Target GFT's financial technology delivery teams
GFT's Engineering Manager openings cluster around capital markets, banking, and insurance client programs. Referencing relevant fintech delivery experience in your application directly signals fit and reduces the internal screening friction that can slow sponsorship conversations.
Verify your specialty occupation framing early
H-1B approval for Engineering Manager roles depends on USCIS classifying the position as a specialty occupation. Confirm that your offer letter specifies a relevant degree field requirement, not just general management duties, before the petition is filed.
Align your timeline with the H-1B cap cycle
USCIS opens H-1B registration in March each year, with an October 1 start date if selected. If you're targeting GFT, aim to have an offer accepted by February so your employer has time to prepare the LCA with DOL before registration opens.
Clarify sponsorship intent before final offer stage
Ask the recruiter directly whether the specific Engineering Manager role is approved for H-1B sponsorship before you reach the offer stage. Some positions within large technology services firms are flagged for sponsorship while others are not, and confirming early saves weeks of back-and-forth.
Use Migrate Mate to surface active GFT openings
Engineering Manager roles at GFT are posted across multiple locations and practice areas, and openings move quickly. Use Migrate Mate to filter specifically for GFT positions that are open to visa sponsorship so you're applying to roles where sponsorship is already confirmed.

Find Engineering Manager at GFT JobsFrequently Asked Questions
Does GFT sponsor H-1B visas for Engineering Managers?
Yes, GFT sponsors H-1B visas for Engineering Manager roles. The process involves GFT filing a Labor Condition Application with the DOL and submitting an I-129 petition to USCIS on your behalf. Sponsorship is role-specific, so confirm that the position you're applying to is approved for sponsorship before accepting an offer.
How do I apply for Engineering Manager jobs at GFT?
Applications go through GFT's careers portal, where Engineering Manager roles are listed by region and practice area. You can also find GFT's open Engineering Manager positions filtered by visa sponsorship eligibility on Migrate Mate, which makes it easier to identify roles where international candidates are actively being considered. Tailor your application to highlight both technical leadership and direct engineering experience.
Which visa types are commonly used for Engineering Manager roles at GFT?
The H-1B is the primary work visa used for Engineering Manager positions at GFT. Candidates already holding L-1A status through an intracompany transfer may also be eligible if they've managed teams at a GFT affiliate abroad. The H-1B requires the role to qualify as a specialty occupation, which typically means a degree requirement in a specific field like computer science or engineering.
What qualifications are expected for Engineering Manager roles at GFT?
GFT's Engineering Manager roles typically require a bachelor's degree or higher in computer science, software engineering, or a related technical discipline, plus hands-on software development experience before moving into management. Familiarity with financial services technology environments, agile delivery, and cross-functional team leadership is commonly expected. Your degree field matters for H-1B purposes, so a directly relevant technical degree strengthens your petition.
How does the H-1B filing timeline affect my start date at GFT?
If you require a new H-1B cap-subject petition, the earliest you can start is October 1, following a March registration window. USCIS premium processing can reduce the adjudication wait to around 15 business days once the petition is filed, but the October start date is fixed by the cap cycle. If you're transferring an existing H-1B from another employer, GFT can file a transfer petition at any time and you can start upon receipt of the filing.
