Get Access To All JobsTips for Finding Highway Engineer Jobs at GFT Jobs
Align your credentials with specialty occupation standards
USCIS requires H-1B roles to qualify as specialty occupations, meaning your degree must directly relate to the Highway Engineer position. A civil or transportation engineering degree strengthens your case far more than a general engineering background.
Target GFT openings that blend engineering and technology
GFT sits in the Technology and Software industry, so Highway Engineer roles there often involve digital infrastructure tools or software-integrated delivery. Highlight experience with BIM, GIS platforms, or infrastructure modeling software to stand out against purely civil-focused applicants.
Search verified sponsoring roles through Migrate Mate
Filter for Highway Engineer openings at GFT using Migrate Mate to surface only roles where H-1B sponsorship has been filed. This removes guesswork about which postings actually lead to visa support.
Clarify sponsorship timing before accepting an offer
H-1B cap-subject petitions can only be filed for an October 1 start date, so if you receive an offer mid-year, confirm with GFT's HR team whether they plan to file in the next lottery cycle or can use cap-exempt pathways.
Request a copy of your certified LCA before your start date
Your employer files a Labor Condition Application with DOL before submitting the H-1B petition. Reviewing the certified LCA confirms your job title, worksite, and prevailing wage level are accurately recorded before USCIS receives the petition.
Prepare project documentation that demonstrates specialty-level work
GFT's engineering roles often involve client-facing infrastructure projects. Compile technical deliverables, design reports, or project scopes that show highway engineering work requiring at least a bachelor's degree in a directly related field, which USCIS scrutinizes during adjudication.

Find Highway Engineer at GFT JobsFrequently Asked Questions
Does GFT sponsor H-1B visas for Highway Engineers?
Yes, GFT has sponsored H-1B visas for Highway Engineer roles. As a technology and software company that delivers engineering projects, GFT engages USCIS petitions for qualifying roles where the position meets specialty occupation requirements. Confirming sponsorship availability directly with the hiring team during the interview process is the most reliable approach.
How do I apply for Highway Engineer jobs at GFT?
You can browse and apply for Highway Engineer positions at GFT through Migrate Mate, which surfaces roles where H-1B sponsorship has been documented. When applying, tailor your resume to reflect infrastructure technology experience alongside traditional civil engineering skills, since GFT operates at the intersection of both disciplines.
Which visa types are commonly used for Highway Engineer roles at GFT?
The H-1B is the primary work visa used for Highway Engineer roles at GFT. If you're already in the U.S. on OPT or a different nonimmigrant status, a change of status to H-1B is typically how the transition happens. Long-term, some engineers explore employer-sponsored Green Card pathways through PERM labor certification after establishing tenure.
What qualifications are expected for Highway Engineer positions at GFT?
A bachelor's degree in civil, transportation, or structural engineering is the baseline for H-1B eligibility in this role, since USCIS requires a directly related degree for specialty occupation classification. GFT's technology focus means candidates who also have experience with infrastructure software tools, project delivery platforms, or digital modeling are at an advantage over applicants with purely traditional backgrounds.
How do I plan around H-1B filing timelines when targeting GFT?
USCIS opens H-1B registrations in March each year for an October 1 start date. If you receive an offer from GFT outside that window, you'll need to either wait for the next cycle or assess whether any cap-exempt pathway applies. Budgeting at least six months from registration to approved status is a practical baseline for planning your transition.
